‘Supergirl’ Teaser Reveals the DCU’s Next Superhero Blockbuster Won’t Be Like ‘Superman’

A short preview has been released ahead of the full trailer, which is coming on Thursday, December 11th. This initial footage suggests that the new Supergirl movie will deliver on DC Studios’ promise of each film being unique, unlike Marvel movies. The clip opens with Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El (Supergirl) sitting in a barren field. She’s wearing everyday clothes – jeans, a coat, and sunglasses – instead of her traditional costume (which was briefly shown in the Superman trailer). She appears surprisingly calm as an unidentified spaceship lands nearby.

DC Just Released Its 6th-Ever 100% RT Superhero Show

The new 10-episode animated series Bat-Fam premiered on Amazon Prime Video on November 10th, released by Warner Bros. Animation and Amazon MGM Studios. It immediately received a perfect 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, making it only the sixth superhero TV show from Warner Bros. to achieve this rare distinction.

It: Welcome to Derry Episode 7 Solves 4-Decade Old Tragic Mystery

The idea that Bob Gray was secretly a disguise for the shape-shifting entity It, as horrifying as Pennywise, isn’t really true. Episode 7 of It: Welcome to Derry reveals that Bob Gray was a real person, tragically overtaken by It’s ancient evil. This truth, hinted at by Mrs. Kersh’s unsettling comment to Beverly Marsh, is far more heartbreaking than a simple disguise.

It: Welcome to Derry Episode 7 – The Tragic Death & Shaw’s Plan Explained

The last scene of It: Welcome to Derry‘s sixth episode showed a large group of Derry residents gathering at the Black Spot, having discovered that Ronnie’s father was hiding there after breaking out of Shawshank Prison. The seventh episode explains that the townspeople aren’t looking for a fight – they simply want to recapture the escaped prisoner and go home. But when Hallorann refuses to cooperate, they resort to setting the Black Spot on fire.

I Had High(ish) Hopes For Five Nights At Freddy’s 2, But My Two Most Glaring Issues Make Me Wary About A Third Movie

Look, I’ll be honest, what I really wanted from a live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s movie was something that just let the incredible animatronics – if Jim Henson’s Creature Shop had built them, that would have been amazing – take center stage, and didn’t bother too much with the human characters. Sadly, we’re not there yet. And even though I was cautiously optimistic, the new Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, from Blumhouse and Universal, actually got worse reviews than the first one – you can read our review here – mostly because the story just wasn’t very well put together.

48 Years Later, the Underrated Thriller That Made Hannibal Lecter Possible Is Finally Getting Its Due

As a big film buff, I find it fascinating how the Hannibal Lecter stories came to be. Most people know him from the films and the TV show, and Thomas Harris wrote four novels featuring the character between 1981 and 2006 – all of which have been adapted for the screen, sometimes more than once! But what’s really interesting is that none of that would have happened without his very first novel, Black Sunday, and the movie version that came out in 1977. It was that story that really launched the whole Hannibal universe as we know it.

‘Zootopia 2’ Will Pass $1 Billion in December for Disney

In 2019, Disney had an impressive eight films earn over $1 billion at the box office. However, in the following six years, including the disruption of the Covid-19 pandemic, only six Disney movies reached that milestone, with three of those successes happening just this year. While it’s taken some time for Disney to regain its momentum – and they’ve had some misses along the way – the three big hits of 2024 prove that when Disney delivers, it really excels.

Idiocracy is Leaving Netflix & It’s Soon

I’m a huge fan of Mike Judge – the guy behind classics like Beavis and Butt-Head, King of the Hill, and Office Space. He directed Idiocracy, which he wrote with Etan Cohen, and honestly, it’s become one of my all-time favorites! It didn’t do great in theaters originally, only making around $495,000, but it’s really found its audience over the years thanks to DVD and streaming. If you haven’t seen it, or want to rewatch, you have until December 28th – that’s when it’s leaving Netflix. Seriously, don’t miss it!
