The story begins in 1946 with Aatami returning to his home near the Finnish-Soviet border, only to discover his wife and child have been brutally murdered by a deranged Soviet soldier named Igor Draganov (Stephen Lang). Draganov killed them, and many others, with a shovel to conserve ammunition. Fueled by grief and rage, Aatami then single-handedly killed 300 Russian soldiers in revenge. Now, Draganov is imprisoned, but offered a chance at freedom if he can eliminate Aatami.
