The marketing for this show is being kept tightly under wraps, so discussing the plot feels a bit like giving away a surprise. The story offers a fresh take on the post-apocalyptic genre: a huge global event has left almost everyone happy and kind, except for a small group who remain unaffected. Actress Seehorn plays Carol Sturka, a cynical romance novelist, and the show centers around the conflict between her negativity and the overwhelmingly positive world around her. The series follows Carol as she struggles to manage her anger and address her ongoing depression in a constructive way.

Alec Gillis, a creature designer who started his career with the original “Alien” and “Predator” movies working alongside special effects legend Stan Winston, recently teamed up with director Trachtenberg again. They previously collaborated on the 2022 film “Prey,” and Gillis has worked on nearly every installment in both the “Alien” and “Predator” series since his early work with Winston.

The success of a K-drama often hinges on its main couple. How the love story unfolds, and whether the characters find happiness individually and as a pair, can be the deciding factor in whether the drama is remembered as a classic. A strong couple can elevate a series, while a disappointing ending for them can ruin it.

As a huge fantasy fan, I’ve been thrilled to see so many amazing books come out lately! Just this year, 2025, has given us some real gems. I especially loved “Oathbound” by Tracy Deonn – it’s the third book in the “Legendborn” series and it’s fantastic – and “Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soul” by V.E. Schwab was another standout for me.

During a recent, in-depth conversation with The Hollywood Reporter about his upcoming 2025 film, The Smashing Machine, and his role as Maui in the Moana films, Dwayne Johnson was asked whether his experience as a wrestling villain helped him play the character of Black Adam. He responded:

Tolkien hadn’t yet planned the dramatic rescue of Frodo and Sam by the Great Eagles after the Ring’s destruction. He initially considered having Merry and Pippin find them in the desolate land of Gorgoroth. Interestingly, he also noted that if one of the hobbits were to die, it should be Pippin, but in a surprisingly brave act – though he never finished outlining what that act might be. Sadly, Tolkien left this plan unfinished. However, a passage in the final version of The Lord of the Rings feels like it could have originally been written as Pippin’s final moments.

Rewatching Avengers: Endgame reveals that the much-debated decision actually makes perfect sense, and is even cleverly executed thanks to the Professor’s key action: using the Infinity Gauntlet for a second, vital snap.

Following the release of the Superman film, DC Studios shared a first look at the Supergirl movie poster, but there hasn’t been much news since. As the winter movie season begins and 2025 nears its end, studios are starting to promote their major films planned for 2026.

So, I was chatting with Michael Giacchino – you probably know him from the music in ‘First Steps’ and his directing gig on the ‘Werewolf by Night’ special – and he told me a pretty wild story. Apparently, after seeing the finished cut of the movie, he felt like the score just didn’t work. He ended up having to completely rewrite the entire thing! Can you imagine? Starting over on a full movie score after all that work? It just shows how much he cares about getting everything perfect.

Now that filming for Doomsday is finished, it appears all the actors have completed their roles. However, several prominent Marvel stars have publicly stated they won’t be involved in the movie. They insist they won’t appear when Doomsday is released on December 18, 2026, but it’s hard to know if that’s true.
