That’s why it keeps the ‘ROG Ally’ name, but gets an extra ‘X’ to clearly signal its Xbox focus. It’s a bit weird though, because the white version of the original Ally, which is Xbox themed, *isn’t* called the ‘Ally S’ – go figure!

Microsoft engineer Raymond Chen recently shared that while Windows 95 *could* display graphics, the design team deliberately chose a simple, text-based interface. He explained that the graphics capabilities at the time were basic and they were working under a tight deadline.
Windows 7 has consistently held a small percentage of the computer market, around 2%, according to StatCounter. While most users upgraded to Windows 10 after support for Windows 7 ended, it appears many are now switching to Windows 10 again as support for that version is also nearing its end in just two weeks.
The company updated the right-click menu, redesigned the homepage, and made several improvements to features like archives and how content is shared.
This new update, nicknamed “Hairy and Scary,” introduces AXL, the Tarantula boss we’ve been waiting for. AXL is huge compared to the tiny characters, and defeating it will be a real challenge.
Beginning September 30, 2025, we’ll start releasing this update, but it will be rolled out slowly as an optional download. It may take a while to reach all devices. For those already using the 2024 Update, this update will install like a regular, cumulative update.
