One of Xbox’s most legendary RPGs is getting a major update with a brand new way to play — and players can test the new mode out soon

I was so excited to hear they were bringing turn-based mode to Pillars of Eternity! It was *so* popular in Deadfire, and the team at Obsidian really listened to what fans wanted. They admitted the first attempt in Deadfire wasn’t perfect, and they’ve taken all that feedback to heart. Apparently, they’ve made some big changes to the turn-based system this time around, and I can’t wait to see what they are!

Is World of Warcraft’s plan to dumb down for Xbox / PS5 console versions? — “It is not, there’s no reason for us to hide this” says game director Ion Hazzikostas.

Big changes are coming to Midnight in 2026! Players can look forward to a new Demon Hunter specialization with a void theme, lots of improvements to the user interface, and a new outdoor bounty system called Prey. Silvermoon City is also getting a major overhaul. But the biggest addition is Player Housing – a comprehensive system that will bring a detailed, Animal Crossing-style experience to this long-running online game.
