Final Fantasy 7 Remake finally launches on Xbox Series X|S in January 2026 — and Square Enix confirms the whole trilogy is on the way

Not only is it confirmed that Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will be available on Xbox Series X|S and the rumored Nintendo Switch 2, but the entire remake trilogy will now be playable across multiple platforms. This suggests that players on Xbox and Nintendo can anticipate the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in 2024, along with the unnamed third installment.

This move marks a departure from the original console exclusivity of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 respectively, which were later made available on Windows PC.

Square Enix hasn’t announced a release date for the multiplatform versions of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth yet, but fans might be hoping for a Winter 2026 launch. Given that Square Enix may want to stagger these launches, this timeline could be possible.

Interestingly, Square Enix has also mentioned that the trilogy will be playable on Xbox and PC, among other platforms. This means Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and the upcoming third game should both support Xbox Play Anywhere, similar to Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

“The Patent Office made a huge mistake” — how Nintendo’s problematic ‘summoning patent’ passed without scrutiny

In the interview, Florian Mueller expresses his view that the patent should not have been issued because it was too broadly worded. “I believe it shouldn’t have been given. The patent office erred significantly.”

The original language of the patent is purposely ambiguous. “Storage medium, information processing system, information processing apparatus, and game processing method” could potentially encompass a wide range of technologies, including artificial intelligence systems, autonomous vehicle controllers, or even word processors.

Nano11 is a stripped-down Windows 11 that shrinks to just 2.8GB by scrapping drivers and other ‘fluff’ — a quick and dirty testbed

This is particularly relevant when discussing Microsoft’s high system standards for Windows 11, along with certain design issues in the OS. However, it’s essential to note that meeting these requirements doesn’t automatically disqualify the approximately 400 million PCs from running Windows 11; instead, it often comes down to individual preference.

I have mixed feelings about Call of Duty’s ‘Carry Forward’ policy, but I’m glad Treyarch changed up this operator skin

In my explorations through the annals of Black Ops lore, I’ve encountered a recurring figure named T.E.D.D., who has maintained an eerie, apocalyptic appearance throughout. His visage is distorted, as if melted plastic, and his armor is twisted and bent, giving him a haunting presence.

As a researcher delving into the world of Black Ops, I’ve noted the consistent reappearance of a character known as T.E.D.D., who carries an unsettling apocalyptic vibe. His face seems to have been melted, and his armor is bent out of shape, creating a chilling impression.

Going solo? Microsoft wants to be “self-sufficient in AI” — building its own chip cluster to reduce its reliance on OpenAI

Since Sam Altman regained his position as CEO following a public outcry, the dynamics at the company have shifted noticeably. His colleagues, who had voiced their intent to depart if he was not reinstated, emphasized that “OpenAI’s strength lies in its people.” This sentiment has been echoed and is now shaping the company culture.

Paramount is reportedly prepping a bid to buy Warner Bros — a deal including gaming properties like Mortal Kombat and more

I find myself bearing witness to an intriguing development just weeks following Paramount’s successful merger with Skydance. The individual presiding over this combined entity is David Ellison, the CEO and chairman, who happens to be the son of Larry Ellison – a man currently holding the title as the richest person globally, outstripping Elon Musk with an estimated net worth of staggering $393 billion.
