Celebrity MasterChef 2025 air date finally confirmed by BBC – but who is judging in the episodes?

Celebrity MasterChef is back this fall, and a new group of well-known personalities will be competing to prove their cooking abilities.

The new series begins on BBC One on Monday, November 17th at 9pm. Episodes 2 and 3 will air on Tuesday, November 18th at 8pm and Thursday, November 20th at 9pm. All episodes will also be available to watch as a complete set on BBC iPlayer.

The show was filmed earlier in 2024 and will include John Torode and new judge Grace Dent for the 2025 season.

Judges will be watching as 15 celebrities challenge themselves in a new competition. This year, Alfie Boe, Alun Wyn Jones, Antony Costa, Ashley Cain, Chris Hughes, and Dawn O’Porter are all hoping to win, taking the title from last year’s champion, Vito Coppola.

The contestants will compete against Gaz Choudhry, Ginger Johnson, Jaki Graham, Jamie Lomas, Jodie Ounsley, Katie McGlynn, Michelle Heaton, Noreen Khan, and Uma Jammeh.

Last year, it was announced that Andi Oliver would be taking over from Gregg Wallace. Wallace had previously announced he was leaving the show following accusations of misconduct spanning 17 years, which he strongly refutes.

I was really disappointed to hear that the BBC decided not to work with Wallace anymore. It all came after they looked into some concerns about how he behaved, and unfortunately, they didn’t see a way forward.

According to BBC News, a report revealed a total of 83 accusations of wrongdoing against Wallace, with 45 of those accusations confirmed as true.

Most of the confirmed complaints involved inappropriate sexual jokes and comments. There was also one instance of unwanted physical contact and another where someone was inappropriately undressed, and these were also confirmed.

Before the report came out, Wallace used a long Instagram post to state that the Silkins report had cleared him of the most severe and widely publicized claims against him.

After a thorough six-month investigation, the most serious accusations – even those made by well-known people – were proven false, he stated.

I admit that sometimes my jokes and the way I spoke weren’t suitable, and I sincerely apologize for that. However, I want to be clear that I’m not the exaggerated, negative version of myself that’s currently being portrayed to get attention.

Following Wallace’s departure, it was also revealed that Torode would not be continuing with the show. This came after an investigation confirmed claims that he had used racist language at work.

The BBC stated that an independent investigation proved the claim to be true.

In a post on Instagram, Torode stated he didn’t remember the incident and doesn’t think it ever occurred.

He posted on Instagram saying that despite not receiving any communication from the BBC or Banijay, he’s seeing reports that he’s been fired from MasterChef. He insists he doesn’t remember the events he’s being accused of.

The investigation didn’t even specify when I supposedly made a mistake. I was hoping to have some input on leaving a show I’ve been involved with since it started again in 2005, but recent events have made that impossible.

Celebrity MasterChef will air on Monday 17th November at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
