Fans of the popular show *The Traitors* have been waiting, and now we know when the celebrity version will premiere! There’s also another exciting update for those eager to watch.
Since the show *The Traitors* premiered on the BBC in 2022, people have been hoping to see a celebrity version, and now it’s almost here.
The premiere date for Celebrity Traitors has been announced! You can watch the first episode at 9pm on Wednesday, October 8th, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The announcement was made during last night’s launch of Strictly Come Dancing.
There’s more good news for fans of The Traitors! Not only is season four coming next year, but the show has also been renewed for a fifth season. You can now apply to be a contestant!
The first episode of Celebrity Traitors will be longer than usual, lasting 70 minutes, as viewers meet the new cast. After that, the show will air two nights a week – Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9pm.

Okay, so if you’re not seeing the video embedded here, it’s likely a privacy setting blocking it. I had to do a little digging myself! Head down to the very bottom of the TopMob website – the footer – and click on ‘Manage Privacy Settings’. Then, under the ‘Site Vendors’ section, make sure you’ve given permission to ‘YouTube’. Don’t forget to hit ‘Save & Exit’ afterwards, and the video should appear. It’s a bit fiddly, but worth it!
Claudia Winkleman is back as host, and this season she’ll be joined by a diverse group of celebrities in Scotland, including famous faces from television, music, sports, the internet, academia, and comedy.
The first season of Celebrity Traitors will feature a star-studded cast including Alan Carr, Cat Burns, Celia Imrie, Charlotte Church, Clare Balding, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson, Jonathan Ross, Kate Garraway, Lucy Beaumont, Mark Bonnar, Nick Mohammed, Niko Omilana, Paloma Faith, Ruth Codd, Stephen Fry, Tameka Empson, and Tom Daley.
As a huge fan of *The Traitors*, I was instantly hooked by Claudia’s warning in the latest trailer. She really drives home the point that no matter how famous or successful these contestants are, none of that matters inside that castle. She bluntly states that most of them are going to be ‘murdered’ – it’s deliciously dramatic and sets the stakes so high!

Players who outwit and survive the popular game of betrayal will not only earn bragging rights, but also a cash prize of up to £100,000 – which they can donate to a charity of their choosing.
Alongside the main show, there’s also *Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked*, a companion show and podcast. Hosted again by Ed Gamble, it will air on BBC Two after each episode and will also be available on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer. The show will feature celebrities and past players discussing and reacting to everything that happens in the castle.
