Celeste Barber & “Hot Husband” Api Robin Breakup After 20 Years

Celeste Barber and Api Robin are parting ways.

Australian comedian Api announced on social media that she and her husband of 20 years have separated. She often affectionately called him her “hot husband” during her career.

In a message posted on Instagram on February 13th, the couple announced they are separating after a difficult few months. The 52-year-old stated that while they still care for each other and have respect, they’ve realized they have different goals and can no longer continue the relationship.

Api shared that he and Celeste, 42, are focusing on maintaining a strong relationship with their sons, Lou, 14, and Buddy, 11, during this time. Api also has two daughters, Kyrah and Sahra, from a previous relationship.

He ended the note, “We kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we navigate this.”

I’ve been following Celeste for years, and while she hasn’t directly spoken about the split, she has shared so many sweet details about their relationship over time. I especially loved when she talked about one of her favorite things about him during her Netflix special, Fine Thanks – it was a really funny and endearing moment!

She jokingly complained about her husband’s social skills, saying it annoyed her that he excels at everything. She playfully suggested he should be bad at something, but he’s naturally charming and a great conversationalist when he’s around other people. It’s funny, she added, because he’s quiet and reserved with her, but becomes incredibly talkative with strangers.

The Wellmania actress recently shared some personal photos of herself with her husband, Api – whom she’d been with for almost ten years before they married in 2013. The pictures showed them enjoying New York City last November, doing everything from seeing the sights and holding hands on the subway to having dinner with friends.

Then, six months earlier, she dedicated “a love letter” to Api on their 12th wedding anniversary.

Celeste shared a heartfelt tribute that month, posting many photos from their private wedding in Bali. Along with expressions of love and gratitude, she wrote a mix of personal sentiments, including ‘This is hard,’ ‘Thank you,’ ‘I’m sorry,’ and even a simple request: ‘We need milk.’
