NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, has been discussing how generative AI will change the job market. He believes roles like coding could become obsolete as AI becomes more widespread, and he encourages young people to consider careers in fields such as biology, agriculture, and manufacturing instead.
The company has seen huge gains thanks to the growing interest in artificial intelligence. Demand for its graphics processing units (GPUs) has surged as AI technology rapidly improves. This success recently led the company to briefly become the first to reach a market value of $4 trillion.
I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about a potential AI bubble, but I don’t believe it’s happening. In my view, what we’re seeing isn’t a bubble, but a fundamental shift in computing. We’re moving away from traditional, general-purpose computing and towards accelerated computing. Because of this, I’m really focused on encouraging all of us at NVIDIA to integrate AI into our daily work and explore its potential.

In a recently leaked recording, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated his goal is to automate every possible task using artificial intelligence. He also assured listeners that there will still be work available, despite the increasing automation.
I’ve heard reports that some Nvidia managers are advising their teams to scale back on AI usage, and frankly, I find that incredibly surprising.
NVIDIA isn’t alone in using AI to improve how it works. Earlier this year, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff shared that the company was considering how many software engineers to hire, but then explained they’re already using AI to write as much as half of their code, which is significantly boosting their efficiency.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared that the company now relies on AI to write as much as 30% of its computer code, resulting in $500 million in savings. Currently, AI is beginning to replace some jobs, and the best solution seems to be learning new skills, especially those related to artificial intelligence.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei believes AI could eliminate as many as half of the entry-level jobs typically held by office workers, potentially leaving many young people without work. It will be fascinating to observe how the job market evolves as AI becomes more widespread.
