Chainsaw Man Announces New Anime for Its Biggest Arc Yet

Fans of Chainsaw Man have a lot to look forward to! A new anime series has been announced that will cover the story’s biggest arc yet. The anime has been incredibly popular since its first season a few years ago, and the recent movie adaptation has only added to its success. But this is just the beginning – even more exciting content is on the way!

At the Jump Festa 2026 event in Japan, it was officially announced that Chainsaw Man is getting a new anime season. This season will adapt the ‘Assassins Arc’ from the original manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto. A teaser trailer and poster offering a first glimpse of the upcoming season have been released and can be found below.

Chainsaw Man Anime to Return for Assassins Arc

The next major anime project for Chainsaw Man will be an adaptation of the Assassins Arc. While the announcement has been made, details like the release date and format are still unknown. It’s currently unclear whether the arc will be released as a full second season of the TV anime or as a movie. However, given the arc’s length and importance in the manga, either format would be a good fit.

As of now, we don’t know which actors and voice actors will return for the Chainsaw Man – Assassins Arc anime, but MAPPA studio will be animating it again. They were also responsible for the first season and the Reze Arc film, both of which were very successful, so the future of the anime seems bright. We’ll have to wait for MAPPA and Shueisha to share more details soon.

What Is Chainsaw Man’s Assassins Arc?

Following directly after the story in Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, the Assassins Arc covers roughly 18 chapters of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man manga. After Denji defeats Reze, he gains significant attention and becomes the target of several dangerous assassins. Each assassin has a distinct appearance and skillset, leading to some of the most iconic scenes in the manga.

This story arc is roughly the same length as the one featured in the movie, so a new film isn’t out of the question. That could be a great way to continue the Chainsaw Man anime, as the story quickly moves towards the end of the first part after this. However, if it’s adapted as a TV series, expect a very exciting and action-packed experience.
