Fans of mangaka Tatsuki Fujimoto are in for a double treat this year with the upcoming movie “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc,” but what’s even more exciting is that some of his other renowned works are being compiled into an entirely new anime, and it’s arriving much sooner than anticipated. Many anime enthusiasts only recognize Tatsuki Fujimoto as the creator of the widely acclaimed Shonen Jump series, “Chainsaw Man.” The 2024 release of “Look Back” offered a glimpse of a different side to the author. The official YouTube channel for Avex Pictures recently released the trailer for “Tatsuki Fujimoto (Age 17-26)”. VIZ Media publishes these short stories in English, under the titles “Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man: 17-21” and “Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man: 22-26”. Apart from the stunning animation shown in the trailer, “Tatsuki Fujimoto (Age 17-26)” also has a confirmed release date. The series will debut exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on November 8th.

Tatsuki Fujimoto Comments on His New Anime

After the trailer’s debut, Tatsuki Fujimoto expressed his feelings about his college-era works being turned into a new anime series. “I felt nervous, questioning if it was appropriate and whether my works might have over-relied on others’ inspiration,” Fujimoto mentioned in a press statement (via ANN). “Nevertheless, I trust that with the expertise of skilled directors, they’ve evolved into polished, well-made productions.
Readers adore Tatsuki Fujimoto for his unique knack of intertwining bizarre aspects with authentic human feelings, and the upcoming collection by Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 is expected to follow suit. This series will offer fans a glimpse into the creative thoughts behind Chainsaw Man and Look Back, years prior to when those narratives took shape. The anthology encompasses various stories, spanning from realistic portrayals of high school romance to catastrophic extraterrestrial invasions, brutal vampires, mermaids, and sisters with devilish horns. Prepare for a surreal journey, indeed!
