Despite fans anticipating the end of Chainsaw Man after its unexpected announcement, the series has now officially finished with its latest chapter. Many readers feel the ending is rushed and leaves several plot points unresolved. The reveal that Denji’s entire adventure was a dream suggests the author may not have had a clear vision for the story’s conclusion. However, some fans are pleased with how things turned out, particularly the depiction of Denji’s life in this new reality, which appears to be less filled with hardship than before.
The story takes an interesting turn when Denji meets Power, and they both end up working for the Control Devil, Nayuta. This sets the stage for Denji to potentially achieve a long-held wish: finding a girlfriend. He crosses paths with Asa, suggesting a romantic connection could develop, and after all they’ve experienced, it feels like a natural progression. However, the story could have explored an even more suitable character to help Denji find love, creating a more satisfying relationship.
Chainsaw Man‘s Ending Missed the Chance to Bring Back Denji’s Perfect Romantic Match

I’ve noticed a lot of fans really root for Denji and Reze, even more so than other pairings. Their connection felt special – Reze started out wanting to use Denji, but she genuinely fell for his kindness. They actually had a lot in common, which made them seem like a great fit. It’s a shame Makima kept them apart, making Reze disappear and leaving everyone to wonder what a happy relationship could have looked like. It really left a lasting impression, and a lot of us still think they’d have been perfect together.
The series finale, despite resetting the story, surprisingly chose Asa as Denji’s potential love interest instead of Reze, who seemed like a better fit for helping him overcome his loneliness. Disappointingly, Reze doesn’t even appear in the final chapter, leaving fans wanting more. Ultimately, the ending missed a chance to fully resolve Denji’s desire for a girlfriend, only suggesting it might happen, and felt rushed and incomplete.
