Channel 4 confirms Christmas 2025 TV schedule – including two Taskmaster specials

Channel 4 has announced its plans for Christmas 2025, promising a variety of holiday entertainment. Highlights include not one, but two brand new specials of the popular show, Taskmaster.

The fourth ‘Champion of Champions’ special, featuring past winners Sam Campbell, John Robins, Andy Zaltzman, Mathew Baynton, and Maisie Adam, will be broadcast on December 22nd at 9pm. The annual New Year’s Treat will then begin on Friday, January 2nd, also at 9pm.

This year’s New Year’s Treat will be a special two-part episode, featuring Big Zuu, Jill Scott, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Sam Ryder, and Susie Dent.

Channel 4’s Christmas lineup isn’t just about Taskmaster! There’s also a brand new, feel-good special called Finding Father Christmas, featuring Lenny Rush and James Buckley. It airs on Christmas Eve at 7:30pm.

This holiday special, originally called ‘Dear Father Christmas,’ centers on a 16-year-old boy named Chris who still firmly believes in Santa. When his dad tries to convince him Santa isn’t real, Chris embarks on a fun and wild adventure to prove his belief.

As a big TV fan, I’m excited to see a bunch of Christmas specials coming up! They’ve got a festive edition of First Dates on December 23rd at 9pm, and then 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and The Last Leg both on December 24th – Cats at 9pm and The Last Leg at 10pm. If you’re looking for something on Boxing Day, The Great Festive Pottery Throwdown is on at 7:45pm, and on Christmas Day itself, there’s a special Great Celebrity Bake Off at 7:40pm – and this year, it’s a *Peep Showthemed edition, which sounds hilarious!

This Christmas Day, Channel 4 will air its yearly Alternate Christmas Message at 7:20pm, followed by a special Gogglebox Best of 2025 at 9pm.

Join us for the return of The Big Fat Quiz of the Year on December 26th at 9pm. Then, ring in 2026 with The Last Leg of the Year on New Year’s Eve at 9pm and The Great New Year Bake Off on New Year’s Day at 7:40pm.
