Jonathan Ross is hosting a new, compelling social experiment, but it’s quite different from his previous show, The Celebrity Traitors, which was filmed in a castle.
Last year, Channel 4 created a daring new show where eight pairs of strangers – people with very different views, lifestyles, and quirks – were chained together and challenged to survive as a team.
Ross will lead the experiment, matching couples and helping them work towards getting back together.
Jonathan Ross hopes the show will help bring people in the UK closer together, believing that understanding each other is key to overcoming divisions. He’s hoping the couples on the show will succeed and learn to appreciate each other despite their differences.
The new show, Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing, starts on Channel 4 on Monday, March 2nd at 9pm, with another episode airing the following day, Tuesday, March 3rd.

Throughout the six episodes, couples will be physically linked together – handcuffed, in fact – as they navigate daily life, like eating, getting ready, and even sleeping, while being constantly close to someone they might not even like.
Okay, so the premise of this show is…wild. They’re literally chaining couples together – yes, chained – and sending them on a road trip across the UK. The goal? To see if they can find some common ground while physically tethered to someone they might not even like! It’s a competition for a £100,000 prize, but the catch is, if either person wants out – wants to be unshackled – they’re immediately disqualified. They’ve brought together couples from all walks of life, representing a real slice of modern Britain, and it’s going to be fascinating – and probably infuriating – to watch how these relationships hold up under such extreme conditions. Honestly, I’m already hooked to see if anyone can actually make it to the finish line!
Will the possibility of a large cash prize be enough to keep them united, or will their significant disagreements cause them to give up?
Channel 4’s new series is a funny and intense social experiment with a diverse cast of British characters, according to commissioning editor Tim Hancock. The show hopes to explore and address the divisions within modern Britain, and potentially help bridge those gaps.
Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing will air on Monday 2 March at 9pm on Channel 4.
