HBO released a fast-paced trailer for the third season of Euphoria, and it’s clear the show has significantly changed from what it originally set out to be.
The recent three-minute trailer for Euphoria has left many viewers puzzled. It strongly suggests the show has shifted dramatically, moving away from its roots as a gritty teen drama and becoming a full-blown drug thriller.
The show begins with a disturbing scene: Rue, the main character played by Zendaya, is in Mexico and forced to swallow many small, balloon-like packages, likely as part of a drug smuggling scheme.
Through flashbacks, we see her being questioned by police, and she insists she’s never been to that country.
The show also explores the marriage of Nate and Cassie, and how the reappearance of Maddy in their lives could cause problems.

The trailer builds to a dramatic climax, raising questions about the nature of evil and suggesting disturbing violence. We see glimpses of a brutal attack on Nate, but it’s not yet clear who is responsible.
Many longtime fans were touched to see Eric Dane, who plays Nate’s father, as he recently passed away from ALS. He was also well-known for his roles in shows like Charmed, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Last Ship.
The third season of Euphoria will begin airing on Sky Atlantic, NOW, and HBO Max in the UK on Monday, April 13, 2026. You can watch the official trailer now to get a sneak peek at the new season!
