I’m so excited for Apple’s new thriller! It’s bringing Idris Elba back for another original film, and he’s joined by a fantastic new cast, including Charlie Cox. From what I’ve heard, it’s a really gripping story about how power dynamics, what we believe to be true, and even who we are can all change in today’s world. It sounds incredibly tense and I can’t wait to see it!
Charlie Cox cast in This is How it Goes with Idris Elba
I’m excited to report some casting news for Idris Elba’s upcoming thriller, *This Is How It Goes*. Blexmedia announced today that Wunmi Mosaku, Charlie Cox, and Elliott Heffernan are joining Elba, who’s not only starring but also directing the film. It’s based on a play by Neil LaBute and is being produced by 22Summers and Gaumont. This is shaping up to be a really interesting project, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.
I just got the details on this new project, and it sounds really exciting! The script comes from Nathaniel Price, who’s done some great work with films like *Mr. Loverman* and *The Outlaws*. What’s even more interesting is that filming is starting this month, not just in the U.K., but also in Accra, Ghana! This is a huge deal – it’s the first Apple Original film to shoot there, and it really speaks to Idris Elba’s commitment to growing the film industry in Africa and building international collaborations. I’m definitely keeping an eye on this one.
Based on James LaBute’s 2005 play, ‘This Is How It Goes’ tells the story of a love triangle between people of different races in a small American town. The film delves into themes of identity and manipulation as a couple reconnects with an old friend. Their reunion leads to uncomfortable clashes and difficult choices that force everyone to question their values. Idris Elba previously performed the role of Cody in a stage production alongside Ben Chaplin and Megan Dodds, but it’s currently unknown if he will reprise the role in the film.
As a film fan, I’m really excited about this project! Gina Carter and Alison Jackson are producing, with 22Summers and Gaumont backing it. They’re filming on location in Ghana, overseen by T D Afrique, and Sidonie Dumas is executive producing for Gaumont. It’s great to see Elba continuing his relationship with Apple after ‘Hijack,’ but he’s clearly keeping busy! He’s also got a Kathryn Bigelow film, ‘A House of Dynamite,’ coming to Netflix, and he’s co-directing and starring in ‘Above the Below’ for Lionsgate. Talk about a packed schedule!
