Charlie Kirk has been shot at a speaking event at Utah Valley University.
During the conservative political activist’s presentation, which had been going on for around 20 minutes, there were reports of gunfire coming from a nearby structure. According to UVU spokesperson Eleanor Treanor, this information was shared with NBC News.
According to Treanor’s report, Kirk, one of the co-founders of the conservative organization Turning Point USA, was the lone individual who was shot during the incident. At this time, there is no known suspect in police custody.
The ongoing situation was confirmed by Aubrey Laitsch, Turning Point USA’s public relations manager, in a statement to the media. It is known that Charlie Kirk was shot and is currently in the hospital. At this moment, our thoughts and prayers are with him.
On various social media platforms, videos emerged depicting Kirk, aged 31, addressing a crowd from beneath a canopy. Following an unexpected gunshot, he involuntarily flinched and sagged slightly in his chair.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d like to take a moment to express my support and well wishes towards Charlie Kirk, who unfortunately was recently involved in a shooting incident. He is an exceptional individual, highly regarded by many for his contributions. My heart goes out to him during this challenging time. May the healing power of prayer and the blessings of God speed up his recovery.
In the meantime, Vice President JD Vance expressed on X (previously known as Twitter), “Dearest God, safeguard Charlie during his most challenging time.
Supporters from all political parties voiced their approval, with GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene expressing her concern on platform X by saying, “Charlie Kirk has been injured. Let’s send our prayers his way.
Senator Ted Cruz expressed sympathy by saying, “Our thoughts are with Charlie Kirk,” and Senator Ruben Gallego condemned the incident as “terribly tragic.
Added Sen. Chuck Grassley, “Pls join me in praying for Charlie Kirk.”
Kirk had initiated his American Comeback Tour, a countrywide series of talks at universities, arranged by Turning Point USA. At this event, he was conducting his well-known “Prove Me Wrong” session – inviting students to engage in a spirited discussion to contest his views. Unfortunately, during this interaction, he was shot.
