Charlie Sheen Shares What He Regrets About Two and a Half Men Exit

Charlie Sheen knows the way he left Two and a Half Men wasn’t a winner, winner.

Instead, he acknowledged that the event of being dismissed from the cherished sitcom in 2011 due to his public battles with substance abuse remains a somber memory for him at age 60.

In the same interview with People, published on September 3, Charlie expressed his regret about certain choices he made, stating, “Had I not made those decisions, I might be leading a different life today. My issues wouldn’t be as substantial as they currently are, but hindsight is always 20/20.

After leaving the series, which featured actors like Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones, the actor from Wall Street, who is a father to Cassandra (40), born with Paula Profit, Sami (21) and Lola (20) with Denise Richards, and twin sons Bob and Max (16) with Brooke Mueller, embarked on a journey to overcome his addiction. He has been dedicated to repairing the damage caused by his substance abuse.

As a devoted admirer of personal growth, let me share my journey – “Forgiveness, for me, is an ongoing process.” There are instances when a wave of guilt washes over me, what I refer to as the ‘shame shivers.’ These are sudden recollections of regrettable actions, their roots, and the ripple effects they caused. Thankfully, these moments are becoming less frequent, indicating, I believe, that I am making progress.

‘Hey, no worries, we’re all good. But please remember to forgive yourself too.’

It’s clear that personal healing has contributed to his recent endeavors, including a memoir called “The Book of Sheen” and a Netflix documentary named “aka Charlie Sheen“. These works will be available for viewing on September 9 and 10.

He clarified, “I’m not trying to correct misconceptions about my past or make amends for every mistake I made. In fact, a large part of my 50s was dedicated to expressing apologies to those I unintentionally hurt.

He mentioned that his book wasn’t written as if he were a victim. Instead, he acknowledged his actions, asserting ownership over them. He simply wanted to share events as they truly unfolded, recalling them as accurately as possible.

As for what’s next for the son of legendary actor Martin Sheen? He’s taking it one day at a time.

Charlie explained, ‘This isn’t exactly a return or comeback; rather, I prefer to view it as a fresh start, taking life one moment at a time and seeing where it leads.’

1984 saw the birth of Charlie’s first-born, Cassandra, to his longtime high school sweetheart, Paula Profit. This life-changing event took place when Charlie himself was a mere 19 years old.

Although Cassandra usually avoids public attention, it was Two and a Half Men actor Casey Huffman who accompanied her down the aisle at her 2010 wedding.

Charlie and his former wife Denise Richards welcomed their oldest daughter into the world on March 9, 2004, which was two years following their marriage.

Initially, Sami gained attention by being featured in the 2008 reality show “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated” when she was still young.

Looking back on those days over a decade ago, I can hardly believe it myself – from a relatively unknown figure to a household name in 2022, all thanks to her daring decision to join OnlyFans upon turning 18. And let me tell you, the success that followed has been nothing short of incredible!

Sami shared with People in February 2025 that this opportunity has unlocked numerous prospects for him,” Sami said. “I’ve encountered some genuinely amazing individuals along the way, and it’s been incredibly fulfilling to work independently, set my own schedule, and pursue things I’ve long desired.

As a lifestyle enthusiast reflecting on my personal journey, I found myself greatly contrasting with my older sister, who made quite the impact in society at an early age, much like the character of Lola from the film “It’s Complicated.” While she boldly challenged boundaries and set trends, I, on the other hand, chose a more subdued path. My life narrative unfolded differently from hers, but we both learned valuable lessons about self-discovery and individuality along the way.

Born June 1, 2005, she is a woman of God and a devout Christian.

The hostess shared with People during an interview on February 2025 that she can’t find any other words to describe the event except for it being extraordinary or beyond natural. Following her baptism in the church, she expressed that Jesus saved and transformed her life significantly. He took on the role of her savior as well as a close companion.

The teen also shared how religion saved her from the darkness of depression.

She confessed on Instagram that she was struggling, feeling lost and without hope, simply managing to get through each day. But then someone came along, like a beacon in the dark, helping her when she couldn’t help herself. Jesus saved her from the torment of severe anxiety and granted her an inexplicable peace.

After splitting up with Charlie, Denise – now single – adopted her youngest child, Eloise, as a newborn in the year 2011. Then, in 2016, she received a diagnosis revealing a deletion on chromosome 8 that resulted in difficulties with Eloise’s walking and speech development.

In an interview with People magazine in March 2025, Eloise’s mother proudly shared that Eloise is a beacon of joy. She adores everything around her, throws herself into experiences wholeheartedly, and radiates happiness. Even the older girls have noticed this. When they quarrel, Eloise often steps in, acting as a peacemaker, which makes everyone laugh and helps them move past their petty disagreements.

In a natural and easy-to-read manner, the sentence could be rephrased as follows: Brooke Mueller, Charlie’s third wife, gave birth to twins named Bob Sheen and Max Sheen on March 14, 2009. Unfortunately, the couple divorced within about two years, and during their challenging separation, the boys lived primarily with Denise.

In 2023, Charlie got candid about raising his youngest children as a single dad.

He shared with People that their mother is currently preoccupied with sorting out some matters, hence she’s not as visible at the moment. However, he emphasized that they are incredibly charming, intelligent, and humorous individuals.

At their mother’s 47th birthday party in August 2024, which was an unusual event for them, the twins decided to step out from the shadows and attend.

It’s worth noting that Charlie, who we know as Carlos Estévez, hails from a well-known family lineage. His father, Martin Sheen (originally Ramon Estevez), has had an illustrious acting career in Hollywood that extends over half a century.

In a similar vein to Charlie, Charlie’s elder brother, known as Emilio Estevez, also took after their father by appearing in well-known movies such as “The Breakfast Club,” “St. Elmo’s Fire,” “Mission Impossible,” and “The Mighty Ducks.

The stars also share brother Ramon Estévez andsister Renée Estévez.
