No fig deal, but Chase Stokes just got a new tattoo.

Following his recent split from Kelsea Ballerini, actor Chase Stokes revealed a new tattoo referencing a biblical quote. Tattoo artist Daniel Winter shared photos on Instagram on March 12th showing the phrase “They will judge us by our fruit” written in elegant lettering across Stokes’s upper back.

Chase got a new tattoo, adding to his already large collection. He and his ex-girlfriend, Kelsea, both have tattoos of the Virgo star sign.

Kelsea jokingly told Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast in November 2023 that she and her partner got matching tattoos just three weeks prior, and now they’re stuck together! She described the tattoos as very small and insignificant.

He admitted to V magazine last year that he used to be afraid of needles and the idea of tattoos lasting forever. He explained that his first tattoo wasn’t about the art itself, but a way to overcome his fear.

He explained that the number ‘1939’ on his right bicep represents the year his grandmother was born, and she essentially raised him when he was growing up. Next to it, he has a dove with the words ‘Love, Joan’ – the final message his grandmother signed on a Christmas card to him before she died.

Chase has a lot of tattoos with personal meaning, but he also got a few just for the fun of it, like the little smiley face on his right wrist.

“It kind of started out as a joke,” he quipped of the design. “His name’s Frank.”
