Cher knows Kristen Bell is in a good place thanks to Dax Shepard.
Although the singer, known for “Believe,” isn’t particularly close to Kristen Bell’s husband, she’s glad Kristen has found happiness.
On the January 5th episode of his podcast, Armchair Expert with Kristin, Dax asked Cher who her ideal partner would be. He added that he knew she felt she deserved someone better, and he agreed.
Cher didn’t disagree with Dax, who co-parents daughters Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11, with Kristin. She simply explained why she appreciates seeing the two girls spending time together.
I genuinely trust her,” the Grammy-winning artist stated, referring to the actress from Nobody Wants This. “Therefore, you must know something I don’t.
Cher, who started dating Alexander “AE” Edwards in 2022, also told him, “You seem like a good dad.”
Fifty-one-year-old Dax really wanted Cher to like him, so he highlighted one of his best traits. He explained, “I’m not intimidated by her success—I genuinely enjoy it. The more she shines, the happier I am.”
Meanwhile, Kristen was sure to praise her husband of 12 years.
She said to the seventy-nine-year-old, “There’s so much more to him than meets the eye. He might take a while to get to know, but you’ll end up really caring for him. Honestly, he’s wonderful – almost too good for me.”
In fact, she described the comedian as the kind of guy who “polishes you so you shine more.”
Kristen and Dax have maintained a strong marriage by supporting each other through good times and bad.

Okay, so Kristen was on the radio, and she said something that totally got me thinking. She was talking about finding ‘the one,’ but she doesn’t like how everyone talks about finding your perfect match. She thinks it’s not just about you finding someone who fits, it’s about you changing and becoming someone who can fit with them too! She basically said a great relationship is when two people are willing to constantly compromise, and those compromises actually work for both of them. It’s not about one person changing everything, it’s about both people meeting in the middle! I just… I feel so seen when she talks like that.
Things will have their ups and downs, but we need to remember we’re all on the same team, facing challenges together, rather than competing against each other,” she explained. “I’m grateful I married someone who is always striving to improve himself.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always fascinated by celebrity couples, and Dax and Kristen’s relationship is no exception! If you’re curious about how their love story unfolded, you don’t need to be a detective – just keep reading for a look back at their journey together over the years.

Dax remembers being immediately struck by Kristen when he first saw her at a friend’s birthday party in 2007 – he thought she seemed to sparkle! They met again by chance two weeks later at a hockey game, and decided it was meant to be, beginning their relationship.

As the saying goes, opposites attract, and that certainly seems to be the case for this couple. Dax admitted his past as a ladies’ man raised some early concerns for Kristen, who described them to Good Housekeeping as the embodiment of Paula Abdul’s ‘Opposites Attract’ music video.

They got engaged in late 2009 while filming When In Rome. Surrounded by the romantic atmosphere of Italy, they fell in love, much like their characters in the movie.

Kristen once said in an interview about her relationship with Dax, “A good cuddle can really solve any problem—it’s not just a saying!”

In 2013, the couple married in a low-key ceremony at a Beverly Hills courthouse. They had first shared their wedding plans on Twitter earlier that year. Fans found their decision to skip a large, elaborate wedding especially sweet and romantic.

Kristen Bell and her husband welcomed their daughter, Lincoln, in March 2013. She’s very protective of Lincoln’s privacy and jokingly warned anyone who tried to photograph her daughter that they’d regret it.

In December 2014 the couple had their second daughter, Delta.

Kristen told Good Housekeeping in May 2015 that she and her husband go to couples counseling when they’re facing challenges, emphasizing that “Therapy is nothing to be ashamed of.”

Kristen Bell started using Instagram in 2016, and her first post was a close-up photo of her kissing her husband.

The two looked just as in love as ever at the premiere of Dax’s new movie Chips in March 2017.

They two celebrated the 2017 Fourth of July holiday in style.

I’m always so impressed by how real this couple is! They’re just like us – they’ve talked openly about going to couples therapy and even admitted they have arguments, which is totally normal. But through it all, their respect for each other shines through. Kristen recently shared some beautiful advice on Instagram, and it really resonated with me. She said that truly loving someone means accepting them, flaws and all, and finding joy in their happiness, even if it’s through things you don’t necessarily share. It’s such a powerful message about letting your partner be themselves and supporting their passions.

Couples who can laugh and be playful together tend to have lasting relationships. This couple frequently shares funny photos online, like the time they created amazing costumes for a *Peaky Blindersthemed birthday party – they absolutely nailed it!

In 2025, Kristen marked Dax’s 50th birthday by sharing a collection of sweet photos highlighting their relationship.
She wished her loving husband a happy birthday, calling him her everything and saying she couldn’t picture her life without him. He weighs 220 pounds.
