According to Deadline, Toya Turner (from New Amsterdam) is set to appear regularly on the show in the role of police officer Yara Page. There’s a possibility that her character, Yara, could develop romantic feelings for Atwater, played by LaRoyce Hawkins.
Previously, she hasn’t played a character in the One Chicago universe just once; instead, this isn’t her debut role as she has appeared in both Chicago Fire and Chicago Med before, albeit portraying distinct characters from her new role on Chicago PD.
It’s been confirmed that Shawn Hatosy will be part of the cast, taking on the role of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid. This character is expected to make his first appearance in the season 12 opener. According to showrunner Gwen Sigan, this new addition will introduce a fresh element to the Intelligence unit as she spoke to TV Insider (via TVLine).
