Amelia Dimoldenberg‘s love life is heating up.
Normally, the host of Chicken Shop Date interviews celebrities while they share a meal of fried chicken on her YouTube show. Now, she’s hoping to find romance and is trying her luck in the movies.
Amelia has confirmed she’ll be starring in and producing a romantic comedy for Orion Pictures, part of Amazon MGM Studios. She shared the news on social media with a screenshot from a Variety article, saying it’s “a dream come true” and that she’s “so excited to be developing my very own movie!”
The 32-year-old actress will star as a serious, by-the-book journalist whose world turns upside down when a celebrity interview sparks a surprising romance, causing her to rethink everything she thought she knew about love.
Sarah Heyward, a former writer for the shows Girls and Nobody Wants This, is writing the screenplay. The film will be produced by Gloria Sanchez Productions – the company known for You’re Cordially Invited and Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart – alongside Amelia.
People are really excited for Amelia, with both fans and friends showing their support. Comedian Nikki Glaser said she’s really looking forward to the movie, and Benito Skinner enthusiastically wrote, “YESSSSSSSS.”
This new film isn’t the first time this social media star has worked on a visual project. She recently expressed gratitude to Maisie Peters for the opportunity to direct her music video for “My Regards.”
Amelia revealed on Instagram on February 6th that she’d always dreamed of directing a music video, and she had a wonderful time doing it, sharing some behind-the-scenes photos of the process.
Amelia has always been known for creating daring and original content. She actually launched her show back in 2014 with that very idea in mind.
She explained to Cosmopolitan in March 2025 that she believed there was a need for something fun and lighthearted. “There wasn’t much out there that let people express themselves creatively,” she said. Encouragement from friends and colleagues gave her the confidence to develop the idea further.

Amelia has become a fan favorite thanks to her funny and memorable moments with celebrities like Billie Eilish and Andrew Garfield. Her connection with Andrew Garfield is especially popular, building on a playful exchange they had on the red carpet two years ago.
And as she’s gotten older, her persona has grown with her.
She described her character as an amplified version of herself, but explained it’s changed over time as she’s grown as a person. After ten years with the show, she’s moved from playing a sarcastic and reserved character to one who leads conversations and is much more confident and approachable.
I’m so excited to see Amelia in her new movie, and I’m especially hoping she finds love on screen! While we wait for that, I’ve been keeping track of all the premiere dates so we can all mark our calendars and be sure not to miss it.
