Teddi Mellencamp and Shep Rose are spilling the sweet tea on their days as childhood friends.
In fact, the Bravo stars recently reunited to reminisce about their days growing up together in Hilton Head, South Carolina amid The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum’s recent battle with cancer.
“In case you all didn’t know my hometown friend @teddimellencamp recently had several tumors removed from her brain,” Shep wrote on Instagram March 17 along with an adorable pic of the two friends hugging. “There’s still lots to battle but we decided to meet up if she was up for it. We met in Encino, a magical village in the valley.”
“As soon as i saw teddi and gave her a hug we argued about where to sit,” the Southern Charm star continued. “She then rather bluntly announced ‘i almost died and i still might – make a decision for once Shepard.’ We then proceeded to just laugh. We love dark humor and Teddi is the queen of it.”
In simpler terms, the person who is 44 years old wrote at the end of his post that “she takes a strong interest and gets great enjoyment from my mishaps, which I believe indicates she loves me.
Teddi, who has just had an emergency operation to take out several growths in her brain, posted a smiling picture accompanied by the message, “Coming up with something to tease @relationshep was the best pre-radiation idea I could come up with.
Reality TV personalities delved deeper into the depths of their longstanding friendship as they responded to fans’ queries on Instagram.
As Teddi noted, “It’s funny that your memories are coming to my house and my memories are going to yours,” adding that her favorite event of the year was Shep’s family Christmas party.
As I reminisce, it felt remarkably similar to securing an invitation to the prestigious Met Gala. Each time, there was a sense of anticipation as I anxiously scanned through the list, hoping to find my name among those who would gain entry.
Shep recalled enjoyable moments spent at the Mellencamp residence. As he put it, “Teddi’s house was right by the sea, and we used to cycle over and take a dip in the pool together.
Teddi clarified that her friendship with Edwin Arroyave, her estranged husband, is purely platonic, despite sharing children Slate (12), Cruz (10), and Dove (5) together.
“I’m one of the only people in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina that did not make out with Shep,” she told fans, to which he replied, “That’s true. It’s very unfortunate. I know it’s one of your biggest regrets.”
As for how Teddi is recovering after going under the knife last month to have some of the masses removed, she recently started radiation on March 17 to tackle additional tumors doctors found in her brain and lungs.
Noting that “immunotherapy kind of kicks your butt,” the accountability coach wrote to fans on social media, “Always trying to find a bit of the positive. Apparently the more that immunotherapy kicks your butt, the more it’s working, that’s what I’m told. That’s why I can only do the immunotherapy every three weeks, whereas my radiation, for example, that I start on Monday, I do for a week straight.”
