The 25-year-old revealed she suffered a shoulder injury a month before the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The snowboarder shared in an Instagram video on January 8th that they dislocated their shoulder after a funny fall during their second day of training in Switzerland.
The two-time gold medalist said it’s been a fun experience, but they’re trying to stay positive. They don’t have a clear idea of what’s going on yet, as they’re still waiting for the results of an MRI.
Chloe shared a video showing the moment she was injured while snowboarding. She was going down a snowy halfpipe when she fell and slid to the top after trying to complete a trick.
She knew she was hurt when she fell, but wasn’t sure how badly.
Chloe said she expects to have a clearer understanding of her condition tomorrow. She feels optimistic because she has a good range of motion and isn’t experiencing severe pain, but she’s concerned about the issue recurring, as it has in the past.
Chloe, hoping to win a third consecutive gold medal in the halfpipe, started to cry when she realized she wouldn’t be able to compete in the games, which start in February.
She said she’s trying to stay positive and feels confident about her snowboarding progress. She’s eager to get back to riding as soon as she’s medically cleared and hopes that won’t be much longer.
The athlete, despite staying positive, shared that the possibility of not being able to compete is proving emotionally difficult.

She shared a video with the message, ‘It’s hard to stay positive right now, but I’m trying.’ She explained she’s been experiencing a lot of different emotions and has a migraine as a result. Right now, she’s focusing on resting and recovering so she can get back on her feet as quickly as possible. She thanked everyone for their support and promised to keep them updated, adding with a laugh that she thinks she might be getting old.
Chloe, an Olympic snowboarder in both 2018 and 2022, shared that taking a year off to focus on her mental health helped her rediscover her love for the sport.
Chloe described her relationship with snowboarding at that time as being very up and down. “It had amazing highs and really tough lows,” she explained in a recent interview with Women’s Health.
She explained that she wanted to build new, independent experiences as an adult, making her own choices and living life on her own terms. She hopes to remember this significant period of her life that way.

Someone on X – you know, Twitter – messaged me, asking why I haven’t been posting lately. It was so unexpected! I actually haven’t shared because of something kind of embarrassing. A former contestant on The Bachelor revealed he had to crawl to the hospital because of severe back pain that worsened during a road trip with a friend.
I was sharing on my podcast recently how strange my body has been feeling. I’ve got this lingering tingling sensation, even down to my toes! It’s wild because just a few weeks ago, I was comfortably squatting almost 300 pounds. Now? I can barely stand on one foot, let alone do a squat. It’s honestly a bit scary – it feels like I’ve had a stroke or something. It’s a really humbling reminder of how quickly things can change.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its often negative side, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and facing criticism online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition potentially caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Amy to realize she’d received steroid injections following a breast reduction and C-section. She later learned she had a form of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own, and she was incredibly relieved to receive a good diagnosis. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to respond when Justin asked if she was alright. She then found she couldn’t speak and the right side of her face began to droop.
Although her speech and facial movement eventually returned, Hailey went to the hospital where tests revealed she’d had a small blood clot in her brain, diagnosed as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).
Further testing at UCLA discovered Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled to her brain through this opening, causing the TIA.
Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now feeling well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

Fortunately, the paralysis eventually subsided. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, adding it had been a frightening and unexpected situation, but he was going to be completely fine and she was thankful he was on the mend.

A hospital scan quickly revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain – resulting from a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During recovery, she experienced aphasia, struggling to speak coherently.
Though the aphasia eventually passed and she was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure failed, causing a major bleed, and doctors warned her survival was at risk. They were forced to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia reports she has now made a full recovery and is at 100%.
