Chris Daughtry Shuts Down AI Speculation About His 25-Year Marriage

Chris Daughtry won’t let AI bots ruin the start of something good.

Chris Daughtry, known for his song “It’s Not Over,” addressed rumors about his 25-year marriage to Deanna Daughtry. These rumors started after misleading photos appeared on social media, implying problems in their relationship.

Chris, 45, started a video on Instagram on November 13th, saying, “I’ve had enough.” He explained that many people had been sending him screenshots of a growing problem: a flood of fake accounts, false news stories, and misleading headlines. He said it was getting out of control, and he was constantly being asked if these things were actually real.

Chris Daughtry recently shared with his fans some of the AI-generated images circulating online, including a fabricated photo of him with a black eye supposedly from a fight with his wife. These fake images aren’t limited to his personal life; they’re also spreading untrue stories about his band.

He shared a video showing two fake concert posters claiming he’s touring with Bon Jovi, Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Rihanna.

Because AI-generated photos were causing issues with his privacy, Chris – who has 15-year-old twins, Adalynn Rose and Noah James, with Deanna – asked fans to only trust news shared on his official page or confirmed by the band.

Honestly, it’s just so obvious to me that it’s all AI-generated. I was watching a video where someone pointed it out, and they were right – some of the claims are just completely absurd, and it’s shocking anyone even questions if it’s real. It really gets to me when false things are said about me or my family, and then to have people constantly sending me this stuff? It’s incredibly upsetting and honestly, it’s too much to handle.

The former American Idol contestant shared a similar thought a few days later, adding a small positive update. He explained that he and his team had been flagging some problematic pages, and so far, one of them had been removed.

He told Rolling Stone in a November 17th interview that he hopes enough public outcry will make it difficult for harmful content to spread online, eventually leading to the removal of the pages hosting it and its ultimate disappearance. He added that simply expressing these feelings felt like a relief.

Chris, who is also the stepfather of the late Hannah Price, has often spoken about his strong bond with Deanna. He recently honored her with a touching message celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, calling her his “best friend.”

He shared a loving message to Deanna on Instagram, posting a sweet photo of them kissing by the beach. He thanked her for her unconditional love and for being such a positive force in his life. He praised her grace, kindness, and compassion, and said she’s taught him a lot about love – truly loving, forgiving, trusting, and healing – throughout their time together.

Now that Chris is sharing more about his life, here’s a look at what some other past contestants from American Idol are up to.

Kelly Clarkson, mother to River and Remy, has achieved incredible success since her early days on the first season of American Idol in 2002. Now living in New York, she’s won three Grammy Awards, had three songs reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, served as a judge on NBC’s The Voice, and currently hosts her own popular and award-winning talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The runner-up from season two of the show shared two important things in September 2008: he announced the birth of his son, Parker, with his friend and music producer Jaymes Foster, and that this inspired him to come out as gay. He explained on Good Morning America that he didn’t want to raise his son to be dishonest or hide who he is, and he wanted to create a supportive environment where his son could be himself.

Since then, this well-known singer with red hair transitioned from music to politics, even running for Congress in 2016. After losing the election, he released a documentary about his life. However, he hasn’t completely left music behind, recently touring with season two winner Ruben Studdard in 2023 and 2024.

Ruben, the winner of season two of Idol, went on to achieve significant success, including a Grammy nomination and several popular albums. In 2013, he appeared as a contestant on The Biggest Loser, where he quickly became a fan favorite. Although eliminated twice, he gained valuable insights from the experience. Beyond his career and friendly relationship with fellow contestant Clay, Ruben found lasting love with his wife, Kristin, and they welcomed their second child in 2024.

Oh my gosh, she’s just so inspiring! Honestly, hearing her talk about winning Season Three… it just gets me! She said it herself – it’s all about the journey, falling down and getting back up. And after everything she’s been through – losing it all twice – she said fighting to get back to where she is feels so good, and I totally get that! It makes everything even more amazing when you think about it. Plus, 2021 was huge – baby Keziah with Kendall Taylor! And now a Golden Globe nomination for The Color Purple remake?! She’s a mom to Zion too, and she just wants to savor all of this because she worked for it. She deserves every single bit of happiness!

Although she didn’t win season three of the competition, this musician has achieved incredible success! She won an Oscar for Dreamgirls in 2006, a Grammy for her work in the 2017 adaptation of The Color Purple, and even served as a judge on The Voice. Now, this mother to son David is launching her own talk show.

Carrie Underwood quickly became a pop culture icon when she appeared on Idol, and she ultimately won season four. She’s since become one of country music’s biggest stars. For over a decade, she also co-hosted the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley. In addition to her successful music career and hosting duties, Carrie is a mother to two sons with her husband, retired hockey player Mike Fisher.

Carrie Underwood will be joining the judging panel of American Idol in 2024, taking over for Katy Perry.

The singer who finished second on season four of the show is now married and has four children: three sons and a daughter. Even after battling significant health issues in 2006, he’s continued to release several successful albums since appearing on Idol.

Constantine, known for his powerful voice and memorable performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody” on season four of a popular show, found success on Broadway in Rock of Ages, earning him a Tony Award nomination. The father of Malena, born in 2010, continued his career with a role in the 2023 production, Rock & Roll Man.

Following his win on season five, the singer released a platinum-selling album and appeared in a Broadway production of Grease. In 2016, he transitioned to television, hosting State-Plate, a show centered around locally-sourced food. Despite his television work, he still loves music and continues to perform in concerts.

Before Justin Bieber captivated fans, Katharine McPhee gained attention through what some called “McPheever,” which launched her career in both singing and acting. She’s best known for her roles in the musical drama Smash and the series Scorpion.

Married to music producer David Foster since 2019, Katharine is now a mother to her son, Rennie, who shows a natural talent for music. In a 2023 interview with TopMob News, she shared her hope that Rennie will become proficient in various instruments, just like his father. However, she emphasized that they’re allowing him to explore his interests naturally. “We’re not pushing him, we’re just letting him do his thing,” she said. “But I would love for him to have a working understanding of all instruments a lot like his dad. I think he’s on his way—that’s for sure.”

Following his appearance on American Idol, season five finalist Elliott Yamin, known for his hit song “Wait for You,” traveled to Angola. There, he teamed up with former Idol judge Kara DioGuardi to support Malaria No More. In 2010, he gained attention after surviving the earthquake in Chile and sharing his experience on Twitter. Yamin continues to make music and is a father to daughter Camilla, with Karen Cruz.

Kellie Pickler gained recognition after placing sixth on the fifth season of American Idol. She later starred in the Hallmark movie Christmas in Graceland and received three Daytime Emmy nominations for her TV show, Pickler & Ben.

Following the tragic death of her husband, Kyle Jacobs, in February 2023, Kellie shared a valuable lesson he taught her. She told People magazine that he advised her to “do nothing, just be still” during times of crisis, and she’s choosing to follow that advice now.

The winner of season six made a big impact in 2007 as the youngest female to ever win. She toured 35 U.S. cities and then made her Broadway debut in the 2010 production of In the Heights. Her success continued, and in May 2018, she welcomed her first son with Dana Isaiah. Since then, she’s returned to Idol and competed on season 31 of Dancing With the Stars.

David, winner of season seven, found success with his hit song “Time of My Life,” but he’s also made a difference outside of music. In 2010, he traveled to Ethiopia with the United Nations to support their work empowering women. He also participated in the Race for Hope in Washington D.C., raising funds for brain cancer research in memory of his brother, Adam, who passed away in 2009. Since marrying Racheal Stump in 2015, David continues to tour and released his latest single, “TABOS,” in 2022.

After placing second on season seven of a singing competition, he spent two years serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile. He resumed performing after returning in 2014.

In June 2021, he publicly came out as LGBTQ+. He shared on Instagram in October 2023 that learning to accept himself has been a wonderful experience and expressed hope that his openness will inspire others to embrace their true selves.

While Adam Lambert received a lot of attention as the runner-up, season eight’s winner has steadily built a successful career. His second album, released in November 2009, reached number 11 on the Billboard 200 chart, and his song “I Need to Know” was used in an episode of The Vampire Diaries. He’s also been busy growing his family, welcoming three children with his wife, Katy O’Connell.

The runner-up from the eighth season of the show has truly become a major success story. Since appearing on the competition, he’s released multiple albums, gone on headlining tours, and earned numerous award nominations. He’s even followed in the footsteps of Freddie Mercury by becoming the lead singer for Queen and starred in a remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He also briefly served as a guest judge on Idol and kicked off the 2019 Oscars with a performance of Queen’s iconic songs, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions.”

Danny Gokey married Leyicet Peralta in 2012, following his appearance on season eight of American Idol. They now have four children together.

Danny Gokey, a three-time Grammy nominee, released the Christian music album Jesus People in 2021. He’s also the founder of Danny Gokey Eyewear, a brand specializing in glasses and sunglasses.

Following his appearance as a top 10 finalist on the 2010 summer tour, the season nine winner began his career as a solo musician. He married model and actress Jonna Walsh in 2012, after meeting her while filming the music video for his first song after appearing on Idol. Today, he’s a successful singer-songwriter, and his music has even been featured on shows like The Walking Dead.

The singer, who finished as a runner-up on season nine of a singing competition, married musician Brian Walker and released her debut album, Farmer’s Daughter, in December 2010. Although her record label closed down, she transitioned into acting, appearing on the second season of ABC’s Body of Proof.

In May 2013, she and her husband separated. Following their divorce, she described her second album, All That For This, to The Boot as representing a new phase in her life.

The winner of season 10 was the first American Idol champion since Ruben Studdard to have a debut album, Clear as Day, reach the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. He was named New Artist of the Year at the 2011 American Country Awards and performed the national anthem at Game 1 of the World Series that year. In June 2018, the singer of hits like “This Is It” and “Five More Minutes” married his longtime partner, Gabi Dugal. They welcomed their son, Avery, in October 2022.

Though she came in second place on the show, this country singer quickly signed a record deal and released her first album, Wildflower, in October 2011. After appearing on the show, she performed at the CMT Music Awards with the winner, made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry, and even shared the stage with Martina McBride at the CMA Music Festival.

In 2017, she received her first CMA nomination for Best New Artist thanks to the success of her album, Road Less Traveled. She also expanded her career into acting, starring in a movie with the same title as her album.

More recently, the singer announced her engagement to Cam Arnold while performing at the Grand Ole Opry in November 2022, and they were married in February 2024.

Though he only placed sixth on season 10 of the show, he quickly became a fan favorite. He joined the Idols Live tour and recorded a cover of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” with fellow contestant Haley Reinhart, with whom he was romantically linked. He eventually signed with the jazz label Concord. His first self-titled album came out in 2012, followed by I Put A Spell On You in 2018 and Jazz in 2019.

Though Jimmie Allen was eliminated before the live shows on season 10 of a singing competition, he’s since become a successful country artist with two number-one songs: “Best Shot” (2018) and “Make Me Want To.” He also won the Country Music Association’s New Artist of the Year award in 2021.

In April 2023, Jimmie and his wife, Alexis Allen, announced they were expecting their third child while also ending their two-year marriage. Shortly after, Jimmie was accused of sexual assault and abuse by his former manager in a lawsuit. He admitted to having an affair and publicly apologized to Alexis for the hurt he caused, but denied the allegations of misconduct, claiming his relationship with his former manager was consensual.

After welcoming their son, Cohen Ace James, in September, the couple announced they were working to save their marriage.

Following his win on season 11, the musician’s song “Home” became a chart-topping hit and was featured as the theme song for NBC’s 2012 Summer Olympics coverage.

In 2015, he married Hannah Blackwell in a private ceremony with loved ones. They later had a son named Patch in 2019.

Before releasing her album Whirlwind in 2019, a year after winning season 16 of Idol, the artist told TopMob News that the album features a wide variety of musical styles. She explained that she enjoys experimenting with different sounds too much to focus on just one, making it difficult to define a single sound for the project.

Since finishing as a finalist on season 16 of the show, the singer has been busy creating new music and taking advantage of the opportunities that came with being on ABC.

“Music has always been my passion, and I’ve always dreamed of being an artist,” Caleb Lee told TopMob News. “But I also learned a lot about the entertainment industry. I even got to attend Luke Bryan’s final tour concert and perform a song with him!” He released his latest album, Southern Galactic, in October 2023.

Following her third-place finish on season 16 of Idol, singer Gabby Barrett dedicated herself to completing her album. She expressed her excitement about performing at Stagecoach and described touring with Brad Paisley as a fantastic bonus. “It’s crazy to be touring with him,” she told TopMob News.

Gabby and her husband, Cade Foehner, who also appeared on Idol, welcomed their first child, daughter Baylah, almost two years ago. They then added son Augustine to their family in October 2022, and welcomed their third child in February 2024.
