The Oscars 2026 have been gifted: Chris Evans and Alba Baptista are in attendance.
After welcoming their daughter in October, the stars of Gifted made their first public appearance as parents at the Academy Awards, almost six months later.
Chris looked sharp in a traditional black tuxedo, but he accessorized with unique round sunglasses. Alba, on the other hand, wore a shimmering silver dress with flowing off-the-shoulder sleeves and a striking blue necklace.
Although Chris’s recent movie, Materialists, featuring Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal, didn’t receive any major award nominations for the March 15th ceremony, he will be a presenter at the event. He’ll be joined by Chase Infiniti, Paul Mescal, Anne Hathaway, and other celebrities.
Chris and Alba have been keeping a low profile for over a year, and now they’re celebrating a special moment. Before the arrival of their daughter, Alma Grace Baptista Evans, Chris shared details about how he and Alba were preparing for parenthood, according to multiple reports.
“We’re laying low,” he explained to TopMob News in June. “We’re enjoying our time, just relaxing.”
Even when there’s not much going on, having someone to share your time with makes all the difference—and Chris has been incredibly happy ever since he married Alba in 2023.
“It’s incredible,” Chris added of married life, two years in. “It’s wonderful.”
Chris has had an amazing career, including a return as Captain America in next year’s Avengers: Doomsday. However, he considers starting a family his greatest achievement.
He told People magazine in 2022 that starting a family was a major goal for him. He wanted a wife, kids, and a strong family life. He explained that when he looked at the lives of successful artists – actors, painters, writers – they often said their greatest achievements weren’t their work, but the relationships they built, the families they created, and the love they experienced.
He expressed a strong fondness for tradition and ceremony, explaining that having experienced them personally, he finds creating those experiences incredibly rewarding. He said it’s something he couldn’t imagine a better way to spend his time.
