Chris Evans and Alba Baptista came up with a marvelous moniker for their daughter.
Chris Evans, known for his role as Captain America, and Alba Baptista, from Warrior Nun, welcomed their baby girl on October 24th in Massachusetts. They named her Alma Grace Baptista Evans, combining both of their last names in a sweet tribute to her parents.
Even though Chris was busy filming two movies – Materialists with Dakota Fanning and Pedro Pascal, and Honey Don’t with Margaret Qualley – he mentioned that he and Alba had been secretly getting ready for their baby’s birth.
The 44-year-old told TopMob News in June that they were keeping a low profile and simply enjoying some downtime, relaxing and taking it easy.
Even though they’re expecting a baby, Chris says he and his wife, who got married in 2023, still feel like newlyweds.
“It’s incredible,” he gushed of his two-year marriage. “It’s wonderful.”
Chris always knew he wanted to be a dad, and he even said getting a dog, Dodger, in 2015 was a practice run for parenthood.
Oh my gosh, he said in an interview with TopMob News back in 2023 that he really wants kids someday! But he also said getting a dog first is like, a trial run to see if he’s actually ready for all the responsibility. It’s SO sweet and thoughtful, honestly. Like he’s thinking everything through! I just… I can’t even. He’s perfect.
Chris recently mentioned he wants to be like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, both as a father to daughters and as his co-star in the movie Red One.
In 2024, he told Access Hollywood that he definitely hoped to become a father like his colleague. He described the idea of becoming a dad as ‘exciting’.
Oh my gosh, everyone’s wondering what’s next for Chris and Alba, and honestly, I’ve read that Chris just wants to settle down and really focus on his family now. It’s so sweet! He seems like such a family man, and I’m totally here for him prioritizing that. I just want him to be happy, and if that means less work and more time with his loved ones, perfect!
In a 2022 interview with People, he spoke about what truly mattered to him: “Wife, kids, building a family.” He explained that when you look at the lives of successful people – actors, artists, writers – they often say their greatest achievements weren’t their work, but the relationships they built, the families they created, and the love they experienced.

Reports suggest that the Marvel actor and the star of Warrior Nun started dating around the middle of 2021. However, news about their relationship didn’t become public until November of that year, when they were seen together in New York City.
