Chris Evans will be back in Avengers: Doomsday, and his return could be especially significant for Spider-Man. While Spider-Man and Captain America haven’t always been close in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – their first encounter during Captain America: Civil War was rocky – Doomsday offers a chance for them to build a stronger connection, potentially having a big impact on Peter Parker’s life.
Although plans for the next Avengers movie, currently known as Doomsday, are largely coming together, Spider-Man’s involvement remains unclear. It hasn’t been confirmed if Tom Holland will be in the film, and details about his story following Spider-Man: Brand New Day are being kept secret. Because no one in the Marvel Cinematic Universe knows Spider-Man’s identity after the events of No Way Home, it will be challenging to include him in Doomsday. However, a potential solution could involve Steve Rogers.
Steve Rogers Could Still Kow That Peter Parker Is Spider-Man In Avengers: Doomsday

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange cast a spell to make everyone forget Peter Parker – his friends, enemies, and even other heroes. But this spell only worked on Earth-616, the main Marvel Cinematic Universe reality. Peter Parker is still remembered in other versions of the Spider-Man story, like the comics and TV shows. So, if someone from another universe knows Peter Parker from Earth-616, they wouldn’t have been affected by the spell.
Chris Evans’ potential return as Captain America is significant because of how time travel works in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers traveled back in time, creating a separate timeline. This means he wasn’t present on the main Earth timeline (Earth-616) during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and therefore Doctor Strange’s spell likely didn’t impact him.
Steve Rogers and Peter Parker met at Tony Stark’s funeral, and they even shared a lighthearted conversation about where they live in New York. This means Rogers likely knows who Peter is, and when Peter gets involved in the events of Doomsday, Rogers will probably recognize him as Spider-Man, which could lead to a complicated situation.
It’s good that Steve doesn’t remember Peter’s secret, because it gives Peter a much-needed friend after feeling isolated for so long. However, if Steve were to find out the truth – that Peter deliberately erased his memory – it could cause serious problems for Peter.
