Chris Hemsworth is getting real about the key to a lasting marriage.

Chris Hemsworth, 42, and Elsa Pataky will celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary on December 26th. The Thor actor says the key to their lasting and happy marriage, despite busy careers and raising a family, is simply making dedicated time for each other.

Okay, so Chris basically said on this podcast – seriously, I was listening – that the key to everything is just
making time for each other! He said it’s about carving out moments, just the two of them, and really creating space to connect. It sounds so simple, but honestly, it’s everything, right? I mean, that’s what I think, and he totally confirmed it!

The actor, known for his role in The Avengers, explained that spending time together has helped them continue to learn about each other, which has led to both of them growing as individuals.

Chris explained that it fosters forgiveness and compassion between them, and helps them understand each other’s flaws. He believes this understanding has been key to their continued success and balance.

He explained that a relationship hits a rough patch when conversations fade and both people lose their curiosity about each other. That’s when you should start to worry, he said.

Chris shared that while their busy work lives and raising their children – 13-year-old India Rose and 11-year-old twins Sasha and Trista – often require a lot of attention, they believe it’s essential to still make time for each other, and there’s really no good reason not to.

It’s definitely tough, but we can make things work,” Chris told Jay Shetty. “With the support we have, we really have no excuse for not finding time for each other.

Ultimately, he said that in a complex world, it’s vital to maintain a sense of humor and prioritize simply enjoying each other’s company – focusing on laughter instead of getting bogged down in serious problems or major life choices.

He explained that it really boils down to connection – the kind built through shared laughter, exciting experiences, a willingness to be playful, and genuine companionship.
