The upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday, will include a thrilling encounter between Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and a key character from the X-Men. This next Avengers film is set to give the X-Men a major spotlight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing back at least seven well-known mutant heroes from previous Marvel movies. As this will be their first full integration into the MCU alongside the Avengers, fans are eager to see which character pairings will be the most exciting.

I’m so excited! Kelsey Grammer just confirmed he’ll be sharing scenes with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in the MCU! He was talking to Entertainment Weekly and they asked who he hadn’t worked with before from the old X-Men movies, and he specifically mentioned Thor. He didn’t want to give away too many details, which is totally understandable, but just knowing they’ll be together on screen is awesome!

Although specific details haven’t been released, it looks like we’ll see another crossover between the older X-Men characters from 20th Century Fox and the Avengers from Marvel Studios. Simu Liu, who plays Shang-Chi, has hinted at a scene with him alongside Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Ian McKellen’s Magneto. Plus, Alan Cumming, who played Nightcrawler, suggested a possible fight between his character and the Fantastic Four from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The next Avengers movie, titled Avengers: Doomsday, will be the fifth team-up film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and part of Phase 6. It’s set to feature a massive cast of over twenty actors, with the heroes facing off against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., who plans to destroy the multiverse. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.

What to Expect Between X-Men & Avengers in Avengers: Doomsday

With a huge cast, only a few characters—namely Kelsey Grammer’s Beast, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau (from The Marvels)—currently know about the existence of the multiverse. These characters, and potentially others, will likely be key to uniting everyone in the film.

However, his interactions with Beast and the X-Men will be a first for the MCU, as Thor gets introduced to the world of mutants.
