JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are thankful for their good karma.
The couple, who started dating in June, recently shared more details about their loving relationship, explaining what makes it so successful.
Chris, 32, recently told TopMob News’ Francesa Amiker that building a relationship with his partner was surprisingly simple. “People often ask if it was hard, but honestly, it wasn’t,” he shared during an interview at the Dancers Against Cancer Gala on October 21st. “We started as friends, and it’s easy to build from there.”
Okay, so I’ve been following this so closely! It all started on Celebrity Big Brother UK back in April – that’s where they first really connected. At the time, she said it was just a friendly thing, totally platonic. But then, like, two months later, she confirmed they were officially a couple! I knew it! I just knew there was something special between them, and I’m so happy it’s finally happened!
The former Dance Moms star, who was honored with a humanitarian award at the event, acknowledges that her friendship played a key role in their connection, but also believes another positive influence contributed to it.
“I think the universe literally said, ‘Oh yeah, by the way. You two belong together, you’ll figure it out eventually,” JoJo explained. “And we did! We’ve both been in relationships prior, but I think that’s why this feels easy because it’s very right. We have fun and we keep things light.”
In fact, the two abide by that lighthearted approach when they disagree on certain situations.
The singer, with a British accent, recalled Chris once telling him, ‘There’s no point in arguing – we’ll be okay in the end, so why bother fighting?’ He said that advice really resonated with him and he’s never forgotten it.
JoJo feels that finding someone who meets her halfway has helped her grow to love herself even more.
She said she’s genuinely happier now, feeling like she’s finally comfortable being herself. She’s experimented with different styles over the years, but now feels authentic. She credits her friends, family, and especially Chris, for helping her feel completely comfortable and genuine, no matter what she’s wearing or how she looks.
Chris has consistently been a strong supporter of the singer, known as the “Guilty Pleasure,” as she’s achieved more success, including being recognized at the Dancers Against Cancer Gala. He secretly told JoJo just days before the event that he would be presenting her with the humanitarian award.
Chris told JoJo, “You should be very proud.” JoJo responded with a giggle, saying, “I’m sorry, I know I shouldn’t be laughing, but you’re so cute!”

August 1st, 2020 was an exciting day for JoJo Siwa, who was 17 at the time, as she publicly shared who she was dating. She was thrilled to be in a relationship, even more so than having crushes on actors like Patrick Dempsey and Zac Efron.
The former Dance Moms star enthusiastically told Jessalynn Siwa, the musician’s mother, that he was incredible and exactly who she’d hoped for.
But by that November, the pair were no longer in harmony.
JoJo Siwa spoke out on Instagram to defend her former boyfriend, Mark. She said he doesn’t deserve negativity and asked people to support him, explaining that they had a truly happy and fun relationship. She clarified that their breakup was a mutual decision and that was the full story.
I’ll never forget when JoJo and Kylie first connected! It was back in 2020 on a cruise, but things didn’t really become official until a year later. JoJo shared on Instagram in February 2021 that she finally got to call Kylie her girlfriend, and it was just the sweetest thing. Seeing them together makes me so happy!
Siwa also thanked her girlfriend, calling her incredibly supportive and saying she inspired her to be authentic. She had already collaborated with Pride House, a group of LGBTQ+ TikTok creators, and posted a TikTok of herself dancing to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” She was considering whether to share a photo of a t-shirt that read “Best Gay Cousin Ever.”
JoJo Siwa explained on The Tonight Show that she was hesitant to share a picture on her Reels story, but a friend gave her enthusiastic encouragement. ‘Just do it!’ the friend said, and Siwa took her advice and posted it.
JoJo Siwa and her former partner moved in together, a decision Siwa now regrets, as she mentioned in an April 2024 podcast interview. They broke up in October of the same year, but shared one last dance together in 2022.
JoJo Siwa told Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she and Avery Cyrus are still close and talk frequently.
JoJo Siwa revealed in March 2022 on the Rachel Uncensored podcast that she’s in a relationship and isn’t looking to date anyone else, stating, ‘I’m a loyal lady.’
She’d played the field, she continued, and snagged herself a catch in Katie Mills.
“I’ve really come into my own,” Siwa shared playfully. “I experimented with a lot of things, and I’ve grown so much. I’m incredibly happy with where I am today.”
But safe to say her romance with the TikToker wasn’t all fun and games.
After Siwa shared a video in March 2023 criticizing past relationships for manipulative behavior and attention-seeking, Mills responded with some pointed comments of her own.
She publicly spoke out on TikTok that month, saying she was finished staying silent. She questioned how someone could profess love for another person, then suddenly cut off contact, only to later accuse them online of seeking attention and being overly affectionate. She admitted she just didn’t understand the behavior.
She also pointed out that Siwa was the first to share their relationship publicly, but Mills always asked for permission before posting anything about it online. Mills emphasized that she has text messages to back up her claims, and warned people not to challenge her account.
It’s safe to say Avery Cyrus, who briefly dated JoJo Siwa in 2022, hasn’t become a major star herself.
Celebrating their one-year anniversary (12 days past), the singer described her relationship as a dream come true. She told TopMob News that they have great chemistry and a strong connection, which she considers essential. She also shared that her partner’s positivity lifts her spirits, and she believes she does the same for her partner.
However, the atmosphere shifted in December. Just two days after Miley Cyrus announced their breakup, JoJo Siwa subtly criticized someone she claimed had used her popularity for their own benefit.
She expressed her frustration in a December 2022 video, shared by her mother on Instagram, saying she was manipulated for attention and taken advantage of in a relationship where she thought she was loved.
For Cyrus, though, their dalliance wasn’t a game.
I ended my relationship with JoJo on good terms, and we remain friends,” she told TopMob News. “It was a genuine connection, and I have a lot of love for JoJo and her family.”
Dakayla Wilson finished as a runner-up on season 18 of So You Think You Can Dance, but she clearly made a strong impression on judge JoJo Siwa. Siwa revealed in an August TikTok that she and Wilson have become a couple, playfully explaining she took time off from her public persona to help Wilson teach a dance class as an ‘All Star Assistant’.
For months, Wilson was a wonderful dance partner for Siwa. She revealed he was supportive of her desire to have triplets and generously spent $30,000 to celebrate her 19th birthday in Hawaii.
The former Nickelodeon star told TopMob News that he’s deeply in love. He described his partner as incredibly special and said he feels lucky to have her in his life.
But it turned out that Wilson wasn’t all Siwa wanted for Christmas.
JoJo Siwa shared with People magazine in November 2024 that she and her former partner had split up, but she still thinks highly of her. Siwa also mentioned she had her own plans for the holidays and that her ex-partner was spending the holidays with her family.
In January 2025, Siwa publicly announced she was dating Kath Ebbs, referring to the Australian content creator as her girlfriend.
I was so thrilled to see Ebbs reciprocate the affection! They shared some adorable photos of them kissing online that same month, and their caption – “Bit of queer joy for ya feed today!!” – just made my heart soar. It was a beautiful moment of visibility and happiness, and I couldn’t stop smiling!
Just three months later, Ebbs shared that they broke up at the wrap party for Celebrity Big Brother UK.
In an April 2025 TikTok, Ebbs explained that she’d been told there were mixed emotions about her, and that the other housemates had come to the conclusion they didn’t see a future with her.
However, Siwa maintained that this wasn’t a situation where she could easily be substituted, even though she was close to fellow housemate Chris Hughes.
While filming, JoJo Siwa explained on ITV’s This Morning that she had time to reflect privately. She realized she’d been accepting things in her life that she shouldn’t have, and this newfound self-awareness came from being separated from familiar people and outside influences.
Siwa didn’t win Celebrity Big Brother UK, but she found something even better on the show in spring 2025: a romantic connection with fellow contestant Chris Hughes.
She excitedly told Keltie Knight of TopMob News at the opening of Universal’s Epic Universe on May 21st that Christopher is her favorite person to discuss. She quickly corrected herself, saying, ‘I shouldn’t say ‘thing’ – he’s truly my favorite person to talk about.’
And, yet, she kept reiterating, they were just friends. Until they weren’t.
JoJo Siwa confirmed in an interview with The Guardian in June 2025 that her relationship with her partner had become romantic. She described it as a wonderful and natural progression, saying she’s completely in love and feels the same way in return.
She still feels the term “queer” best describes her identity, but ultimately she focuses on connecting with people, rather than getting caught up in labels.
JoJo Siwa pointed out that there are many different ways people identify in terms of sexuality. She believes it’s wonderful when someone figures out who they are.
