The new year is here, and many people have started making resolutions. A popular one is getting in shape, and celebrities like Dwayne Johnson are already working out. Chris Pratt, though, admits he’s already slipped up on his fitness goals, and many fans find that surprisingly relatable.
Fans who have watched the Marvel movies in order will recall how Pratt got ripped to play Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy (which is streaming with a Disney+ subscription). He’s maintained that through the years, although the 46 year-old actor took to Instagram to share that he had already skipped a day at the gym. He went on stories, sharing:
I skipped my workout yesterday, so I really pushed myself hard today to make up for it. I was aiming for 200 pull-ups, and I’m completely exhausted now.
It’s the same for me! Lots of people want to get in shape, but finding the motivation is tough. It’s especially difficult right now, with everyone still getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. Even someone like Chris Pratt, who’s been dedicated to fitness for years, probably feels that struggle sometimes.
Many actors, like Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, and Ben Affleck, have transformed their bodies for superhero roles. Chris Pratt has stayed in great shape, but he’s honest about not always having time for workouts, and recently explained:
I missed my workout yesterday, which was a setback, but I didn’t let it derail my overall goals. I went back to the gym today and had a great session. It’s important to remember that everyone slips up sometimes, and the key is to just get back on track.
Chris Pratt recently opened up to his 44.3 million Instagram followers about his personal challenges. He shared that he’s not always perfect, even though he seems to have it all together when playing Peter Quill. He explained that, like everyone else, he sometimes struggles with staying motivated and finding the time to get things done.
In a recent series of Instagram stories, the star of Parks & Rec (available on Peacock) shared an honest update about his gym progress this year. He said:
I slipped up on my routine yesterday. I need to be better at managing my time – there’s no excuse for it. I could have started my day earlier, and I did today. I managed to get a workout in, and even did 75 pull-ups, which is a decent start considering my goal is 200.
I’m suddenly motivated to go to the gym. It’s reassuring to remember that everyone, even fit celebrities like Chris Pratt, struggles with motivation sometimes. Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try, and it’s important to keep going even after setbacks. If Star-Lord can bounce back, I know I can too!
Chris Pratt has several films scheduled for release in 2026 and beyond. Many fans are curious if he’ll return as Peter Quill in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars movies, and if he does, he’ll likely be in top physical shape for the role.
