Chrishell Stause is simply not sold on season 10.
After appearing on the Netflix show Selling Sunset for nine seasons—including a particularly dramatic recent season—the reality star has announced she’s leaving the series.
Chrishell recently told Bustle that she struggled with the decision, explaining that it was difficult to decline an opportunity given her background. However, she’s now firm in her decision not to return for another season, stating that nothing – not even a compelling reason – could change her mind, especially after the conflicts she experienced with other cast members.
She explained that she’s reached a point where she doesn’t rely on the show for income. Fortunately, she has other jobs, and continuing with the show was negatively affecting her well-being.
A major source of conflict was the end of her friendship with costar Emma Hernan, which was complicated by Emma’s relationship with Blake Davis – a problem they couldn’t resolve.
Chrishell, who married G Flip in 2023, explained that she feels like she comes across as pushy when discussing Emma. She also claims that her ex, Blake, has used hurtful language towards non-binary people, and that the show left out important details that would have supported her point of view.

Chrishell stated she’s supportive of her fellow cast members, even if they decide to join different shows, but she prefers to offer that support from a distance.
She said she wishes the show well if it continues. While she might not watch future seasons, she holds no negative feelings towards it. She’s grateful for the opportunities it gave her and doesn’t want to dwell on the fact that her departure wasn’t ideal.

Chrishell stated she’s supportive of her colleagues, even if they decide to join different shows, but she prefers to offer that support from a distance.
She said she wishes them well if the show continues. While she might not watch future seasons, she holds no resentment towards the series. She’s grateful for the opportunities it provided and doesn’t want to feel negative about leaving, even though it wasn’t on her terms.
She also revealed that her decision came even as she sat through her final reunion showdown.
Honestly, after everything, after hours and hours of just…going through it, I remember thinking to myself, ‘Just sit here, get through this moment. You are NOT giving up, but please, PLEASE let this be the last time you ever have to deal with something like this.’ I genuinely promised myself, deep down, that I would never put myself through that again.
Now that Chrishell has come out, she’s focused on projects that reflect her identity. She initially thought she could still play straight roles, but now she wants to fully embrace queer storytelling. She’s hoping to star in and lead a holiday movie centered around LGBTQ+ stories.

Pascal, known for dying in roles on shows like Game of Thrones and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, wasn’t surprised by his character’s fate. He jokingly told Entertainment Weekly that he’s used to it – he actually enjoys playing characters who meet an end!

Following what he called a “wild adventure,” Peter Krause finished his run as Bobby Nash, the fire captain on the drama 9-1-1, in an episode airing in April 2025.
According to a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, the character Bobby Nash was intentionally created to make a powerful sacrifice, as a tribute to the bravery of first responders. Creator Ryan Krause explained that the character’s storyline is meant to honor those who risk their lives to save others.

In February 2023, Ellen Pompeo finished her run as Meredith Grey on the ABC drama after playing the role for 19 years.
Pompeo admitted on The Drew Barrymore Show in December 2022 that she felt the need to try new things. Despite already making a guest appearance in May and continuing to narrate the show, she explained she’s 53 and wants to challenge her brain. ‘I need to do something different,’ she said. ‘You can’t just do the same thing every day, like The New York Times crossword puzzle.’

Everyone involved with the show has poured their heart and soul into making each week’s episode, and it’s been a rewarding experience,” said Jesse Soffer after his last appearance on the NBC show on October 5th. “I’m incredibly proud of my years playing Detective Jay Halstead.

After five seasons, Damian Lewis departed Showtime’s Billions in Oct. 2021.

In August 2021, Emily VanCamp left the TV show The Resident on Fox, marking the end of her role as a doctor on the series.

As a longtime fan, I was really sad to hear that Madeleine Mantock, who played Macy on the Charmed reboot, decided to leave after three seasons. She shared that playing the eldest sister was a huge honor, and she genuinely loved working with everyone involved – the producers, writers, and the whole cast and crew. It’s always tough when a key member of a show moves on, but I really appreciate her kind words about her time on Charmed.

Elizabeth Keen will never learn the truth about Raymond Reddington. Megan Boone, who played Liz on NBC’s The Blacklist, left the show after season eight, and her character was killed off before she could read a crucial letter revealing everything. Boone described her time on the show as “a dream” in an Instagram post in 2021, marking the end of her character’s story.

The second season of Bridgerton didn’t include Rege-Jean Page, who became a fan favorite in the first season of the popular Netflix drama. Fans were disappointed when it was announced he wouldn’t be returning in 2021.

Ruby Rose first appeared as Batwoman (Kate Kane) in a 2018 Arrowverse event and then led the CW’s Batwoman series for one season. This was a landmark moment, as she became the first openly lesbian superhero to star in her own show. However, Rose announced she was leaving the role just two days after the first season ended in 2020. In season two, Javicia Leslie took over the role, playing a new character named Ryan Wilder who would become the new Batwoman.
Later on in season two, Kate got a bit of a face swap and returned played by Wallis Day.

America Ferrera left the show Superstore after its fifth season in 2020, which meant both a change for the characters at Cloud 9 and a major shift for the series. While the pandemic led to a brief return for two episodes in season six, she ultimately came back for the show’s final episode to give her character, Amy, and Ben Feldman’s character, Jonah, a satisfying conclusion to their story.

In the last episode of the fourth season of Syfy’s The Magicians, Jason Ralph’s character, Quentin, successfully rescued Eliot (played by Hale Appleman), but died in the process. Although the show often features character deaths—it is called The Magicians—Ralph didn’t appear in the fifth and final season.

Ahead of the final season, Arrow‘s Emily Bett Rickards announced her exit in a poem of sorts.
Felicity and I are very close, but we’ll be leaving after episodes one through seven,” she wrote.
She did, however, return for a guest appearance in the show’s 2020 series finale.

Lauren Cohan initially left The Walking Dead in 2018 after difficult contract talks. While she appeared in a few episodes of season nine, her character, Maggie Greene, disappeared after a time jump of six years. Showrunners wanted her to come back, and when her TV show Whiskey Cavalier on ABC was cancelled, she did. Cohan returned to The Walking Dead in October 2020, appearing in the sixteenth episode of season ten.

As a huge fan, it felt like losing family when Danai Gurira announced she was leaving ‘The Walking Dead,’ especially so soon after Cohan and Andrew Lincoln departed. I was devastated! She first joined the show back in season three as Michonne, the incredibly skilled warrior with the katana, and her final episode aired way back in March 2020. It just hasn’t been the same since.

Nicollette Sheridan played the memorable Alexis Carrington, appearing in several episodes of the first season and becoming a main cast member in the second. In 2019, she decided to leave the CW’s reboot of the series before season three to care for her mother, who was unwell.

The show Lethal Weapon has seen its share of cast changes. Clayne Crawford was let go after season two, and Damon Wayans also planned to leave after the show’s third season. He announced in October 2018 that he would finish the initial 13 episodes in December and then depart, stating he was a 58-year-old diabetic working very long days and jokingly referenced his character saying, ‘too old for this.’
Luckily, the producers didn’t have to worry about finding a replacement, as the show ended after just three seasons.

As a longtime observer of the entertainment industry, I always find it fascinating when actors’ real-life decisions mirror their characters’ storylines. That was definitely the case with Cameron Monaghan and his role as Ian Gallagher on Shameless. For a while, it seemed like Ian was headed to prison – and Cameron’s character was actually locked up within the show’s narrative during season nine. But here’s the twist! After nine years with the show, Cameron was ready to move on to new things. Yet, in a really cool move, he decided to come back for both season ten and the show’s final season in December 2020, giving fans a proper ending to Ian’s story. It just goes to show you, things aren’t always what they seem in the world of TV!
