Chrissy Teigen Details Taking Ozempic After Loss of Son Jack

Chrissy Teigen was craving something different.

The cookbook author is openly discussing her experience with Ozempic, a medication for type 2 diabetes that can also lead to weight loss. She says she began taking it after the heartbreaking loss of her and John Legend’s son, Jack, in September 2020.

Chrissy shared on her podcast, *Self-Conscious*, that after having two children, she experienced a loss around 20 weeks into a pregnancy. She described feeling as though her body was frozen and in shock afterward.

Chrissy gained around 40 pounds during her 20-week pregnancy with Jack, which made her feel uncomfortable. She and John are also parents to Luna, 9, Miles, 7, and the two-year-old twins, Esti and Wren.

Her weight gain brought back painful memories of her previous miscarriage, and that’s what led her to consider using Ozempic.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen so many weight loss trends come and go, and honestly, I remember trying something similar to Ozempic well before it was in the headlines. I experimented with it for about a year, and for the first three or four months, I didn’t see a single pound come off. It was incredibly frustrating! Then, almost out of nowhere, it started working, and I finally lost the weight I’d been struggling with – weight that constantly reminded me of a difficult loss I’d experienced.

Losing weight also improved the model’s emotional well-being, as she had been deeply depressed about her body after experiencing a pregnancy loss.

As someone who absolutely *lives* for food, it was honestly really tough for me to watch Chrissy take Ozempic. It’s designed to suppress your appetite, and for a true foodie like her, that just seemed… disheartening. It felt like taking away a part of what made her, *her*.

She explained that she understood needing food for energy, but it often felt like she was being forced to eat just to get through the day and manage her work.

The podcast host added that it was “torturous” to not feel hungry but to still need to eat.

She admitted she really disliked feeling full. Instead, she enjoyed the sensation of hunger, the anticipation of food, and the pleasure of wanting to eat. She found excitement in the entire process – from preparing meals to finally savoring each bite.

Chrissy also noticed a positive shift in her relationship with food while on the medication, and she was able to understand and accept how it had changed her eating habits.

She explained that she finally stopped obsessing over food and feeling guilty about enjoying even healthy things. It was crazy, she said, how much better she felt – both physically and mentally – once she stopped labeling foods as ‘good’ or ‘bad,’ even something as healthy as an avocado.

Chrissy realized she’d been holding herself to unrealistic and unhealthy standards when it came to food. She credits Ozempic with helping her change those thought patterns.

The comedian started taking the diabetes drug Mounjaro in late 2022. She revealed her significant weight loss in May 2025.

Rosie shared on Instagram, expressing disbelief at her transformation, along with the hashtags #mounjaro, #weightloss, and #bodydismorphia.

Meghan Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, bonded even more after welcoming their son, Riley, in 2021. They took on the intense 75 Hard challenge and successfully completed it, as Meghan shared on their podcast, *Workin’ On It*. They later learned that many friends-and even some doctors-were using medications like Mounjaro and Ozempic.

Both Daryl and the singer decided to start with the smallest effective dose of Monjaro, and they paired it with regular exercise and healthy eating. As the singer explained, they began this health journey together.

Kendra Wilkinson, known from *Girls Next Door*, tried a weight loss injection, but only used it once. She announced on Instagram in April 2025 that she’d started the shots, then quickly added she was stopping and discarding it.

The model explained she didn’t want to take any chances with her health. As a mother of two, she’d heard too many frightening stories about people needing emergency room visits and even surgery, and she wanted to avoid that at all costs.

In March 2025, the host of the Golden Globes spoke out in support of Ozempic, encouraging people to feel comfortable discussing their use of the medication.

She enthusiastically shared on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* that she fully supports anyone considering Ozempic. ‘I’m all for it,’ she said, adding, ‘I have no problem with anyone making that choice.’

I’ve been following her journey for a while now, and what really struck me was when she talked about the shame people feel when they start to prioritize their health. She explained it so well – it’s not *you* feeling shame, it’s actually coming from others, especially those who are used to seeing you at a higher weight. She believes they get upset when you start to change because, honestly, that’s all they have to focus on – and they don’t like seeing you become confident and vibrant. It’s like they’re bothered by your growth and personality, and try to bring you down.

The model stated in December 2024 that she previously used Ozempic, but she quit using it when she began competing on *Dancing With the Stars* the previous autumn.

Nader admitted to trying the viral trend when it first started, saying everyone else was doing it too. However, it made him feel sick to his stomach. He confessed he actually enjoyed it, but had to stop when he began competing on *Dancing with the Stars* because he couldn’t do both things at the same time.

Brooks explained that the medication made her lose interest in exercising and the energy to do it. She chose to focus on dancing instead, so she stopped working out altogether.

Dog the Bounty Hunter’s daughter revealed on November 1st that she’d lost 58 pounds over ten months by changing her diet and using the medication Tirzepatide. She said she now feels proud of her progress and how she looks.

Before discovering a solution that suited her, she had a difficult experience with Ozempic. “I really disliked it,” she told TopMob News. “It made me feel nauseous whenever I tried to eat, and sometimes I couldn’t eat anything at all. My body just didn’t react well to it.”

The star of *The Real Housewives of New York City* addressed rumors about her noticeable transformation between seasons 14 and 15.

She explained to *Us Weekly* in October 2024 that it’s common for people on reality TV to face speculation about cosmetic procedures, like having plastic surgery or using weight-loss drugs like Ozempic. She strongly dislikes Ozempic and said she would never inject herself with it.

Okay, so everyone’s been buzzing about Lizzo’s weight loss, and honestly, I’ve been OBSESSED with seeing her glow-up! People started saying she might have used Ozempic, and then she posted this video… it was *perfect*. She set it to that sound clip of Christoph Waltz from *Django Unchained* – you know, the one where he says ‘It’s like a reward’? It was like she was playfully addressing all the rumors, and honestly, it was brilliant. She just *gets* me, you know? It was the perfect response and I’ve rewatched it like a million times!

In a September 2024 episode of her podcast, *Dream On*, Kate Moss’s sister shared that starting Ozempic was “the worst decision I ever made.”

The model became sick after accidentally taking a dose of medication intended for someone weighing around 220 pounds or more, and had to be treated in the emergency room because they couldn’t keep food or water down.

She explained that she became so dehydrated she had a seizure, which she described as the most frightening experience of her life. A friend had to hold her feet to keep her still, and she remembers her face and body becoming extremely tense and constricted during the frightening ordeal.

In April 2024, Jon Gosselin, known from the show *Jon & Kate Plus 8*, told *Page Six* that he lost 32 pounds in two months after using semaglutide injections – the generic version of the drug Ozempic.

“You know what’s annoying?” he said. “The regret of not starting it 10 years ago.”

Ree Drummond, known as the Pioneer Woman, wrote on her blog in March 2024 that she didn’t use Ozempic or any other weight loss drugs to lose 50 pounds in 2022.

She emphasized that she would never criticize anyone for making that life choice.

In August 2023, the actor from *30 Rock* revealed on *Today With Hoda and Jenna* that he lost weight using Ozempic, which reduced his appetite.

I was honestly shocked when I heard about his health update in March 2024! He was on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* and jokingly said he’s actually managed to *gain* weight, even with everything going on. He said he put on a full 40 pounds – it was so unexpected!

He later told TopMob News he was just kidding about his previous statement, but also shared, “Ozempic worked really well for me and I’m happy I used it.”

The star of *The Real Housewives of Dubai* revealed she used Ozempic after experiencing a midlife crisis at age 45.

Caroline Stanbury admitted on her podcast, *Uncut & Uncensored*, that it’s incredibly difficult to lose weight after turning 40. She revealed that many women around that age have asked her how she’s managed to stay in shape, and she was honest about using Ozempic, which she believes is a very effective weight loss aid if accessible.

Oh my god, you guys, I was *screaming* when Teresa Giudice said this on *Watch What Happens Live* in July! Everyone was asking about Ozempic, and she was so quick to be like, ‘No, I am *not* on Ozempic!’ Then she immediately just blurted out she’s on Mounjaro, and I just lost it! It was the funniest thing! She was totally owning it, saying she’s *sorry* but she loves being this weight and has so much energy – and honestly, you can *tell*! I’m obsessed with her honesty, and she looks amazing, period.

A former cast member of *The Real Housewives of Atlanta* shared that she wasn’t successful in losing weight using the weight-loss injection.

She explained that a certain treatment didn’t reduce her appetite at all. Unlike some people who lose their appetite, she continued to eat normally – appetizers, a full meal, and even dessert. She shared this in June 2024, adding that seeing it work for others while it didn’t work for her left her feeling down and questioning what was wrong with her.

I’m not a medical professional, but I’ve been following the discussions and know a lot about what’s proving effective and what isn’t,” she said in an interview with Fox News Digital. “Ozempic seems to have both positive effects and potential risks.

Perrie Edwards, formerly of the group Little Mix, has publicly discussed her history with anorexia. She recently shared that it was challenging to resist using Ozempic, a weight-loss drug, given the online attention to her body.

In an August 2025 interview with The Guardian, Jade admitted she constantly struggles with the temptation to try Ozempic. While she understands why others use it, she worries that, given her past struggles with eating disorders, taking the drug could be problematic for her recovery.

The actress from *Beverly Hills, 90210* used a drug to lose weight after having her son, Beau, in 2017.

She mentioned on her podcast in April 2024 that Ozempic wasn’t effective for her, but Mounjaro helped her lose weight.

The actress explained to Francesca Amiker of TopMob News that it’s crucial to remember medications are prescribed for specific individuals and shouldn’t be used simply for cosmetic reasons.

Raven said, “Take care of what you need to, but please make sure to reserve the medicine for those who truly require it.”

In September 2023, the host of *Talk U.K.* shared that she lost 42 pounds after using the medication Ozempic earlier in the year.

She told TopMob News that the decision is entirely personal. She also clarified that using something to aid weight loss isn’t something to be ashamed of, and is perfectly acceptable.

She added, “We don’t have to bulls–t.”

Sharon’s daughter has also weighed in on the Ozempic trend.

“It’s fantastic,” the former *Fashion Police* star told TopMob News in January 2024. “There are so many ways to lose weight, so why not choose one that’s more enjoyable than just exercising?”

Kate Winslet, known for her role in *Titanic* and previously scrutinized by the tabloids for her weight, recently discussed her thoughts on the current trend of focusing on weight loss.

In a March 2024 interview with *The New York Times Magazine*, Kate confessed she wasn’t familiar with Ozempic, saying, “All I know is that it’s some pill people are taking.”

“Oh, my God,” Kate remarked after learning about the injectable. “This sounds terrible.”

In December 2023, the star of *The Hills* shared that she had lost 22 pounds naturally, without using the drug Ozempic. She told *Page Six* that she believes there are no easy fixes when it comes to weight loss, and she wouldn’t consider using a shortcut like Ozempic herself. She didn’t want to call out any other celebrities who might be using the drug, but made it clear it wasn’t something she would ever do.

Heidi said she’s looking for something sustainable and isn’t afraid of hard work.

During her June 8, 2023 appearance on *Watch What Happens Live*, the *Trainwreck* star openly criticized celebrities for being dishonest about using Ozempic to lose weight.

She said everyone seems to be trying Ozempic, and people are being dishonest about it. Addressing Andy Cohen, she called out those claiming they’re simply eating smaller portions, saying, ‘Just stop lying. If you’ve lost weight, it’s because you’re using Ozempic or had some kind of procedure.’

Senator Schumer, who has previously discussed her cosmetic surgeries, emphasized the importance of honesty, saying, “I openly admitted to having liposuction.”

She shared that she quickly became interested in Ozempic in 2022, but ultimately stopped taking the medication-intended for Type 2 diabetes-because it interfered with being able to fully enjoy time with her son, Gene.

I remember being too sick to play with my son,” Schumer said. “I was really thin at the time, and he was throwing a ball at me, but I just didn’t have the strength to participate.

Dr. Drew recently told TopMob News that people have complicated reactions to shows like *Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test*. He explained that while viewers are fascinated, they also tend to be critical of the participants.

He added that if a treatment could potentially help, people should definitely consider trying it.

Forget winter, a hot take is coming.

The actress, known for her role in *Game of Thrones*, didn’t hesitate to publicly share her thoughts on Ozempic and the commercials promoting it.

On April 5, 2023, the actress shared a post on her Instagram Story from writer Sophie Vershbow criticizing advertisements for Ozempic. Vershbow’s original tweet expressed strong disapproval of the ads, which were prominently displayed in the Times Square subway station. The ads themselves highlighted the drug’s weight loss benefits, with phrases like “One shot to lose weight” and “A weekly shot to lose weight.”

Turner adding her own commentary, writing, “WTF.”

Novo Nordisk, the company that makes Ozempic, has stated that the drug is not currently approved by the FDA for long-term weight loss.

Novo Nordisk, the maker of Ozempic, acknowledges that some doctors are prescribing the drug for weight loss, but the company doesn’t support or encourage using its medications for purposes other than those officially approved. They emphasize their commitment to following all U.S. laws and regulations regarding how they promote their products. Novo Nordisk also states they believe doctors are making informed decisions about the best treatment for each of their patients.

Comedian Chelsea Handler is speaking out about her experience with Ozempic. She says her doctor prescribed the medication for anti-aging purposes without fully explaining what it was.

I was so surprised when I heard about it on the January 25th, 2023 episode of *Call Her Daddy*. She mentioned it so casually, saying if you ever wanted to lose just a little weight – about five pounds – this could really help. I honestly didn’t even realize I was involved until she brought it up!

But while she tried the drug, Handler noted that she didn’t like how it made her feel.

She remembered returning from vacation and immediately using the medication. A few days later, while having lunch with a friend, the friend mentioned feeling sick and revealed she was taking Ozempic. She realized she was also feeling unwell, but initially attributed it to jet lag from her trip to Spain.

Handler eventually stopped taking the medication because she didn’t need it for medical reasons, and she shared her leftover supply with friends.

She admitted to giving Ozempic to around four or five friends, explaining she decided against using it herself because she thought it was unnecessary. She described having friends come to her house to receive injections, scheduling appointments like ‘at 1 o’clock’ or ‘at 2 o’clock’.

Khloe Kardashian clapped back when commenters on Instagram speculated that she was taking Ozempic.

Kardashian defended her fitness routine in a January 2023 post, explaining she works out five days a week, starting at 6 a.m. She asked people to stop making assumptions about her and noted that the new year hadn’t changed some people’s negativity.

I was really fascinated to hear that Dr. Dubrow didn’t just jump on the weight-loss drug bandwagon – he actually tried Mounjaro himself for a short time back in January 2023. He wanted to understand firsthand how it works and what it does to the body, which I think is incredibly dedicated and responsible of him.

The *Botched* star said she was really impressed with the weight loss medication. She didn’t need to lose a lot of weight herself, but she was curious to experience it firsthand, since many of her patients used it and she wanted to see how it worked for someone who wasn’t diabetic and only needed to lose about ten to fifteen pounds.

Okay, so Dr. Dubrow finally talked about it! He wouldn’t say *exactly* how much weight he lost, or how long he was taking whatever it was, but the best part? He’s off it now! Seriously, I’ve been following his journey so closely, and knowing he’s no longer on that medication is such a relief. I’m so proud of him!

He decided to stop taking the medication because he wanted to regain his appetite, and he’d also been feeling mildly nauseous.

The star of *The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills* addressed rumors that she was using medication to lose weight, after fans on social media commented on her weight loss.

Responding to comments on an Instagram post from January 5, 2023, Richards firmly denied using Ozempic, stating, “I am NOT on Ozempic.” She reiterated this in a separate reply, adding, “Never have been.”

The reality star debunked the rumors again, confirming in an Instagram post from Page Six on January 16, 2023, that she is not taking the medication.
