It’s closing time for these two HGTV shows.
It appears that multiple sources report the cancellation of shows including Christina Haack‘s “Christina on the Coast,” as well as Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa’s show, “Flipping El Moussas.” Additionally, according to People magazine, series such as “Bargain Block,” “Farmhouse Fixer,” “Married to Real Estate,” and “Izzy Does It” will not be renewed.
In reference to “The Flip Off”, the collaboration among Christina, Tarek, and Heather, I’m thrilled to share that reports say it’s coming back for another season! However, as of now, the cameras haven’t started rolling just yet.
TopMob News has attempted to contact HGTV and representatives from both sides, however, we have yet to receive a response.
Initially, the show was designed for a competition between Tarek and Heather versus Christina (alongside her then-spouse Josh Hall), aiming to determine which pair could achieve the most impressive transformation in a house flipping project.
In the world of lifestyle expertise I inhabit, a curveball was hurled my way when the news broke about Josh and Christina’s divorce in July 2024. Initially, I thought we’d see both of them throughout the show’s first season, but life had other plans. To my surprise, Josh made a single appearance in the premiere, while the rest of the season unfolded with Christina shining solo.
For Christina, however, she preferred her time after Josh left the show.
During her interview with Jennifer Hudson on The Jennifer Hudson Show in January, the 41-year-old expressed that it’s a lot less complicated without someone constantly interfering. In other words, she doesn’t need to seek permission from anyone anymore and there’s no one holding her back or making things difficult for her.
If anything, she said, “I think I have an advantage.”
Apart from Christina, who has children Taylor (14) and Brayden (9) with Tarek, as well as Hudson (5) with ex Ant Anstead, wasn’t alone in this journey. Her partner, Christopher Larocca, was by her side during the series finale episode. It was also revealed at that time that the El Moussas had a better return on investment between the two homes they flipped.
It turns out that each of Christina’s past relationships had a role in the series. Earlier in the season, Ant served as a guest judge during the episode focusing on the renovation of the guest bedroom and bathroom. In the end, he declared Christina as the victor for that challenge.
However, even though it might have been uncomfortable for the former partners, they handled it gracefully. Ant, in particular, found a humorous angle and shared it on social media.
Ant expressed in a recent Instagram post shared on February 19th, just hours before the broadcast, that today was an unusual day for him. This is because he was unexpectedly asked by someone he knows quite well to fill in on a TV show and help out. It feels strange because the person asking is currently seated, acting as if she’s busy at work, when in reality she seems to be just lounging on the couch.
Afterward, he adjusted the camera to focus on Christina, saying, “I recommend catching this program. It’s titled The Flip Off, featuring her and another pair. Nothing uncomfortable about that, right?
