City Hunter, the legendary 80s manga from Tsukasa Hojo, is enjoying something of a moment right now.
This month plots the start of a new English language run, courtesy of publisher Kana.
SUNSOFT is partnering with Red Art Games to bring its classic 1990 PC Engine game to new audiences.
I’m so excited for this game! It’s a side-scroller and it’s coming out on February 26th for the PS5. The best part is they’re making sure it still *feels* like the original while taking advantage of the new hardware.

Here’s the story premise, courtesy of the game’s Steam page:
I’m Ryo Saeba, but most people know me as City Hunter. I’m a professional problem-solver – you could say I ‘clean up’ the city by taking on dangerous jobs, everything from protecting women to eliminating criminals. It’s a risky life, to say the least. I work with my partner, Kaori, who is the sister of my late best friend, though she doesn’t always find the best cases. I wonder what kind of trouble today will bring?
The game will launch digitally worldwide and will also be available as a physical copy in Europe starting September 26th. A limited Deluxe Edition (only 500 copies) and a special Collector’s Edition will also be offered. You can pre-order both from the Red Art Games online store beginning on September 26th.
