As a seasoned gamer with decades of strategy gaming under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for Sid Meier’s Civilization 7! Having played every iteration since the original back in the 90s, I can confidently say that this game has been a constant companion throughout my life. From late-night sessions during college to marathon playthroughs during those long, isolating lockdowns, Civilization has always provided an escape, a challenge, and a sense of accomplishment.
Prior to the public opening of Gamescom later this month, the event kicks off with Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20th at 11 AM Pacific Time. This exciting occasion will be hosted by Geoff Keighley and showcase new announcements and world premieres, similar to Summer Game Fest but hopefully even more impressive. Among these unveilings is Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 from Firaxis Games.
The gameplay premiere is scheduled to make its first appearance during Opening Night Live, but there’s more! At 1:30 PM PT on the same day, a detailed exploration lasting over 20 minutes will be unveiled on Firaxis Games’ Twitch channel. This in-depth look will offer “insights directly from the development team” and highlight its “groundbreaking new features.”
Absolutely, there’s more to share! Starting from August 21st to 25th, attendees at Gamescom can play “Civilization 7” directly at the game’s booth. If you happen to be at PAX West between August 30th and September 2nd, you too can give it a try. Additionally, a developer panel moderated by Greg Miller from Kinda Funny Games is scheduled for August 31st. This panel promises fresh insights and intriguing stories about the game’s creation.
