Classic Far Cry Games Teased to Get Big Upgrades From Ubisoft

Ubisoft is planning significant upgrades for three older Far Cry games. After releasing Far Cry 6 in 2021, the company hasn’t added much to the popular series. While rumors suggest a new game, Far Cry 7, is in development, it’s likely a long way off. Luckily, fans wanting to revisit the series before Far Cry 7 arrives will soon see updates for some of the best games in the franchise.

Ubisoft recently announced on social media that it’s working on performance improvements for three popular Far Cry titles. The company hinted that updates are coming for Far Cry 3, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Far Cry: Primal, allowing them to run at a smoother 60 frames per second. While Ubisoft hasn’t revealed a release date yet, the strong hint suggests more details will be shared soon.

Ubisoft recently improved the performance of Far Cry 4 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, boosting it to 60 frames per second. Because fans loved that update, it makes sense they’re now working on a similar improvement for other Far Cry games. Far Cry 3 is especially popular with players, so getting a 60fps version would be a big and welcome change.

Rumors suggest that Far Cry 7 is currently being developed, but Ubisoft hasn’t officially confirmed anything. Even if the game isn’t scheduled to come out in 2026, Ubisoft might announce it soon to reassure fans it’s in progress. As soon as we have official news, we’ll share it here on ComicBook.
