A Remaster of a 2006 Classic

This isn’t the original *Rogue Trooper* game from 2006. It’s the updated remaster created by Rebellion Developments for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Both the original and the remaster are based on the classic British comic book of the same name. This *Rogue Trooper* game was Rebellion’s second video game adaptation of a *2000 AD* comic, following their 2003 release, *Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death*.

When the game first came out, reviews were only moderately positive, with a Metacritic score in the low 70s. However, the strength of the game’s concept and world built a dedicated fanbase, making it a cult classic. This allowed it to receive a remastered version in 2017, even before many more highly-rated and popular games did.

If you’re unfamiliar with this classic game, it’s a third-person shooter focused on strategy and a story of revenge. You take on the role of the sole surviving Genetic Infantryman – a soldier specifically created for combat – seeking payback after being betrayed and left for dead during the Quarts Zone massacre by those in charge.

Collector’s Edition

Besides the regular game, Fanatical is offering the Collector’s Edition at a huge 93% discount, dropping the price from $29.74 to just $2.23. This edition includes the game’s 21-song soundtrack, a special Rogue Trooper comic based on the game, and two sets of HD wallpapers for your computer.
