Classic Toy Story Games Return With New Releases This Year

Several classic Toy Story video games will be re-released on most gaming platforms later this year. With the upcoming release of Toy Story 5 sparking renewed interest in the popular Pixar films, publisher Atari is bringing back some of the most memorable Toy Story games this fall to take advantage of the excitement.

On October 15th, Atari is releasing two new Toy Story game collections! Toy Story: Retro Roundup! features five classic games originally released on systems like Sega Genesis and PlayStation 1, including Toy Story, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!, Toy Story 2, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and Toy Story Racer. As a bonus, the collection also includes Pixar’s A Bug’s Life game. The second release is Toy Story 3 Complete Edition.

I’m so excited about Toy Story 3: Complete Edition! It’s basically a revamped version of the platformer game that came out years ago on consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360. They’ve really updated the graphics and made it run smoother, and it includes stuff that used to be exclusive to different versions of the game – so it’s the most complete version yet!

It’s been nearly impossible to play most of the original Toy Story games on today’s computers and consoles. While a few have been re-released on certain systems, the vast majority have remained stuck on the platforms they first came out on. That’s why Atari bringing them back is exciting – it lets a new generation of fans experience these games, and makes it easier for longtime fans to revisit them.

This October, fans can enjoy both Toy Story: Retro Roundup! and Toy Story 3: Complete Edition on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Each game will be available digitally for $24.99. A physical copy containing both games will also be released for $39.99.
