Claudia Winkleman receives esteemed honour from King Charles III at Windsor Castle

Claudia Winkleman has received an MBE from King Charles at Windsor Castle. The award recognizes her contributions and achievements.

Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, the hosts of Strictly Come Dancing, have both been awarded Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for their contributions to television and radio, as announced in the King’s Birthday Honours.

Winkleman has said she feels incredibly fortunate and plans to celebrate with Tess by performing a paso doble.

Claudia Winkleman has become a beloved star, consistently impressing audiences with her work on shows like Strictly and, more recently, The Traitors. The fourth season of The Traitors will premiere on New Year’s Day.

This year’s Honours list included several well-known figures, with David Beckham receiving a knighthood and actor Gary Oldman also being recognized.

Several other notable people were also honored, including Elaine Page, the star of Evita, who has been made a Dame. Georgia Harrison, known from Love Island and TOWIE, received an MBE for her advocacy work on online safety and fighting cybercrime. Roger Daltrey of The Who was knighted for his contributions to music and charitable causes. Luke Littler and Luke Humphries, who played together for England in the World Cup of Darts, both received MBEs, adding to the list of sports figures recognized. This news comes shortly after Strictly Come Dancing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced that the 2025 series will be their last, with the upcoming Christmas special marking their final time hosting the show.

The pair announced on Instagram that they’ve cherished their time working together and described hosting ‘Strictly’ as a wonderful experience.

“We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time.

We’re incredibly excited for the rest of this fantastic series and want to express our huge gratitude to the BBC and everyone involved in making the show. They’re a truly wonderful team, and we’ll miss working with them dearly.

It will be sad when we finally stop encouraging each other to keep dancing, but we’ll always find a way to do it – maybe just in comfortable clothes at home with some pizza.

“Tess & Claud.”
