As a huge Star Wars fan, I truly believe The Clone Wars isn’t just one of the best animated series in the entire franchise – it’s arguably the very best thing Star Wars has ever given us. With over 130 episodes, the show finally concluded in 2020 with its seventh season. While that final season did resolve a lot of things, there was one big story arc that, sadly, we never got to see. Recently, an actor from the show shared details about how that major storyline was ultimately cut from the series.
At this year’s Space Con, actor Daniel Logan talked about reprising his role as Boba Fett, a character he originally played in the movie Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. He shared that plans were once in the works for a dedicated storyline for the bounty hunter in the Clone Wars animated series. Here’s what Logan revealed about that unreleased story.
One of the most memorable—and disappointing—parts of working on that show was that we’d already planned a full seventh season centered around Boba Fett. The idea was to explore how he acquired his iconic new armor. A lot of fans assume he simply used Jango Fett’s old gear, but as you might recall from earlier episodes, Boba actually destroyed Jango’s helmet while attempting to kill Mace Windu.
Boba Fett’s Armored Origin

Logan was telling me about how some ideas we had for a Boba Fett story actually made it into The Book of Boba Fett, though it ended up being quite different! We developed a whole arc about how Boba Fett got the dent in his helmet and his fight with Cad Bane. It was awesome because Cad Bane didn’t actually die – he survived and became an enemy in The Book of Boba Fett later on! They even released footage of the chase between Anakin Skywalker and Boba Fett – you can find it online now. They’re slowly sharing some of the stuff we filmed. Honestly, when I first read those scripts, I was so moved! As a huge fan, it was exactly the backstory I always wanted and felt the fans deserved for Boba Fett. I’m still hoping those full episodes will see the light of day someday.
I’m really excited for the future of The Mandalorian and Grogu! While we haven’t heard anything official about Boba Fett showing up in anything new yet, don’t worry – the Mandalorians aren’t going anywhere. We’re finally getting a movie focusing on Din Djarin and Grogu in 2026, which is huge! It’s awesome to see these two characters, who have become so popular in Star Wars recently, getting their own big screen adventure. And even though Boba Fett isn’t confirmed for the movie, he was a big part of Mando’s journey before, so you never know!
