Maverick Games recently shared the first trailer for their story-focused driving game, Clutch, after a brief initial preview. The minute-and-a-half-long trailer highlights the game’s narrative and the risks involved in competitive racing.
The upcoming story of Clutch centers on two incredibly talented sibling racers. Both are determined to compete in the highly competitive R1K racing series, but they soon discover a dangerous side to the sport, encountering groups like the Midnight Collective and even facing off against criminals.
Beyond the core gameplay, the racing game Clutch promises incredibly detailed and realistic cars. Maverick Games says they’ve achieved this by heavily customizing Unreal Engine 5, allowing them to render even the smallest details – from the shape of the car’s body and paint finish, to the stitching inside and the wear on the tires – with unprecedented accuracy.
In addition to its racing and storyline, Clutch will have an open world for players to explore. Exploring this world will likely unlock rewards, such as new customization options and performance enhancements for your vehicles.
Currently, a specific release date for Clutch hasn’t been announced, though it’s planned for sometime in Spring 2027. The game is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
