Co-op creature collector action RPG KinForge announced for PC

I’m really excited about this new game called KinForge! It’s being made by Seeker Entertainment, a studio full of people who used to work at some of the biggest names in gaming – Blizzard, Maxis, Riot, and Sony just to name a few. It’s a cooperative creature-collecting action RPG, which sounds awesome, and they’re starting with a PC release on Steam. Hopefully, if it does well, they’ll bring it to consoles too!

Oksana Kubushyna, co-founder and CEO of Seeker Entertainment, recently explained that the company believes games can be more than just fun. They can bring people together, motivate them, and offer a sense of renewal. Their new game, KinForge, reflects this belief. It’s designed around players working together to fight against corruption and bring harmony back to the world, emphasizing teamwork, bravery, and optimism.

Travis McGeathy, co-founder and chief corporate officer of Seeker Entertainment, explained that he and Oksana were united by a vision to develop something innovative – uplifting, but with an edge. KinForge draws inspiration from popular games, blending the challenging gameplay of action RPGs with the emotional connection of creature collecting, and incorporates the strong social elements that made games like EverQuest so enduring. Ultimately, he described it as a story about finding redemption.

Nature Has Had Enough

Imagine a world very similar to our own, where powerful spirits called Elementals are the source of all natural forces. They control the wind, the oceans, and even fire itself. Bond With Living Powers

Elementals aren’t simply tools to be used; they’re living beings with their own feelings, goals, and power. When you free spirits that have been corrupted, you can build strong connections with them. Each powerful Ancient Elemental you befriend will teach you a new combat skill, like summoning fire or creating stone defenses. You can then enhance these skills further by combining them with smaller spirits called Sprites, customizing their effects. Discover the best combinations of Sprites and Ancients to create a truly unique playstyle.

Each time you combine abilities, it completely alters your combat style. A good pairing could transform a basic fire attack into a guided explosion, or make a regular strike unleash a powerful storm of lightning and debris. With so many possible combinations – billions, in fact – it’s easy to lose control, but the most unpredictable mixes can also be the most effective.

Fight Alone or Together

Play alone or with a team of up to three players. Explore areas overtaken by a dark force, free trapped spirits, and challenge the people responsible for harming nature to get rich. Each spirit you rescue unlocks new abilities, helping you fight back against the growing Corruption.

Your Preserve, Your Sanctuary

When you’re between adventures, head back to your Preserve – a safe haven where you and your teammates can recover and prepare. Here, you can bring back defeated Elementals, create new power combinations, and build improvements to help you succeed in your ongoing quest.

Worlds Reforged

Each playthrough starts anew, guided by an Overseer who determines the difficulty and obstacles. The game creates a unique experience every time, blending familiar elements – enemies, upgrades, and resources you’ve previously unlocked – with new surprises. As you collect more items and abilities, you’ll not only change your playstyle, but also the very worlds you explore.
