What to expect from CoD BO6 Season 5: Early patch notes explained

To streamline the content for better reading experience, we’ve divided it into several distinct parts for your convenience.

Zombies finale

The major addition to the game in Season 5 is likely the conclusion of the Zombies narrative saga.

In the end, the team’s adventure concludes at the headquarters of Project Janus in “Reckoning,” marking their farewell journey prior to the launch of Black Ops 7.

As an eager player, I’m beyond thrilled to delve into this fresh chapter! It undoubtedly brings forth a primary mission, exclusive loot, and an array of novel zombie species. But what truly sets it apart are the substantial new features that await me!

In an upcoming update, a formidable new adversary known as Uber Klaus, a zombie clad in mechanical armor, will make its debut. You’ll have the chance to defeat this powerful enemy with our latest addition – the Gorgofex Wonder Weapon, a firearm capable of discharging a projectile of Aether-infused energy.

Multiplayer maps and modes

We’re getting three maps to start Season 5, with a fourth joining mid-season. These are:

  • Runway (Launch)
    • Brand-New, Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized
  • Exchange (Launch)
    • Brand-New, Strike, 6v6/2v2, Small-Sized
  • World Motor Dynasty (W.M.D.) (Launch)
    • Remaster, Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized
  • Jackpot (Mid-Season)
    • Inspired by Black Ops 4, Core, 6v6, Medium-Sized

In addition to the freshly minted maps, you’ll also find an abundance of novel game modes to explore, along with some classic ones. Here is the complete lineup:

1. New Game Mode 1
2. New Game Mode 2
3. New Game Mode 3
4. …
5. New Game Mode N
6. Returning Game Mode 1
7. Returning Game Mode 2
8. Returning Game Mode 3
9. …
10. Returning Game Mode M

This should give you a good idea of the variety you can expect!

  • Aim High (New)
  • Snipers Only (New)
  • Cranked Demolition (New)
  • Cranked Moshpit (Returning)
  • Ransack (Returning)
  • Blueprint Gunfight (Returning)

New weapons

In every fresh installment of Call of Duty, you can expect some fresh firepower, and that’s exactly what we’re getting with Season 5: a total of four additions to our arsenal – three firearms and one melee weapon!

Here are all of the new weapons coming next season:

  • PML 5.56 (Machine Gun)
  • ABR A1 (Assault Rifle)
  • Gravemark .357 Revolver (Pistol)
  • Boxing Gloves (Melee)

A returning Scorestreak

At the halfway mark of Season 5, we’ll see the return of a previously absent Scorestreak.

In a thrilling return, the Combat Bow is back on the scene after its last appearance in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, giving gamers an opportunity to re-experience the excitement.

In simpler terms, as developers describe it, you’ll leave the jungle and transform into a solitary action hero. You’ll shoot single-shot arrows tipped with explosives that detonate upon hitting targets, causing burn damage to all enemies within their flight path, and leaving a burning trail behind.

New events

To wrap things up, there are some exciting new events coming up this season that offer a variety of distinctive prizes for your enjoyment.

Every occasion boasts a unique motif for an exciting twist, appearing sporadically across different periods: the schedule.

  • ’90s Action Heroes (MP, ZP, WZ) (In-Season)
    • 13 Total Rewards including Boxing Gloves Melee Weapon and Mister Peeks Zombies Field Upgrade
  • Operation: Hell Ride (MP, ZP, WZ) (Mid-Season)
