One of the best ways to show your progress in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is Weapon Prestige.
In Black Ops 7, when you Prestige a weapon, it resets to level zero, but you’ll unlock special skins to display to other players.
So, how do you Prestige weapons in CoD BO7? Here’s what you need to know.
CoD BO7 weapon prestige: How to prestige weapons explained

Okay, so Weapon Prestige is a bit different than the usual Prestige stuff in the game. Instead of a ton of levels, there are only three to grind through. They are:
- Weapon Prestige 1
- Weapon Prestige 2
- Weapon Prestige Master
Once you reach level 50 with a weapon, you can ‘Prestige’ it. This resets the weapon’s level and any progress you’ve made on its upgrades, but lets you keep any cosmetic items equipped on the optic attachment slot.
Once you reach Level 50 in Weapon Prestige 2, you will unlock Weapon Prestige Master.
By doing this, you can fully upgrade your weapon to Level 250, and once you reach that level, you’ll get the unique Universal Camo as a reward.
You might get a unique bonus item with certain weapons, and you’ll always be able to use all the customization options for that weapon after that.
Earning rewards varies depending on the weapon, but here’s a quick look at what you’ll unlock with each Weapon Prestige in Black Ops 7.
- Weapon Prestige 1
- Prestige 1 Camo
- Prestige Attachment
- Permanent Unlock Token
- Weapon Prestige 2
- Prestige 2 Camo
- Prestige Weapon Charm
- Permanent Unlock Token
- Prestige Mastery
- Prestige Master Camo 1 (Level 100)
- Prestige Master Camo 2 (Level 150)
- Prestige Master Camo 3 (Level 200)
- Prestige Max Camo (Level 250)
- Weapon Prestige Max Icon (Level 250)
- All Attachments unlocked
Should you Weapon Prestige in CoD BO7?
Whether you should Weapon Prestige in BO7 entirely depends on what you want from the game.
If you’re trying to unlock weapon skins (Camos), especially if you mainly use certain weapons, leveling up and resetting those weapons (Prestiging) could help you get the skins you want.
If you’re not interested in unlocking weapon camos, don’t want to lose the attachments you’ve earned, or simply don’t want to go through the effort of grinding for new camos, then it’s probably best not to prestige your weapons.
As a player, I’ve noticed that no matter what I’m doing – whether I’m playing the campaign, jumping into multiplayer, battling zombies, or dropping into Warzone – all that XP I earn actually goes towards leveling up my weapons. So, if I’m already racking up XP anyway, I figure, why not take advantage of it and get those weapons leveled up even faster?
