It’s unclear exactly how many players found Code Vein 2 too difficult, but the recent update suggests the developers recognized the need to make the game more accessible.
Bandai Namco has released update 1.0.5 for PS5, and it includes major changes to how combat works. These changes are designed to make the game noticeably easier to play.
As a player, I’m really excited about how much smoother everything feels! They’ve sped up all the key things we do – dodging, blocking, chaining attacks, and casting spells – and made them way more impactful. It just feels more responsive and powerful now.
We’ve made enemies weaker! Bosses attack less often, giving you more chances to strike, and enemies stay down for a shorter time after being knocked over.
And in general, enemies are just much easier to stagger, and guards are easier to break.
All of these changes really shake up the game’s balance. The developers have also included more monuments that act like checkpoints, letting you respawn if you’re defeated.
The complete list of updates is available on the official Bandai Namco website. It’s too extensive to include here.
It’s notable that the developers of Code Vein 2 have significantly changed the game’s combat system just over a month after its release. This likely comes after the game received generally unenthusiastic reviews.
