Cody Simpson is facing a setback in his music comeback.
Just two months after releasing his new song, “Baby Blue,” the Australian singer revealed he’s experiencing a vocal health problem.
Cody recently shared on Instagram that he’s been dealing with a serious health issue. About a month ago, doctors found a hemorrhage on his vocal cord. He explained that it happened because he pushed himself too hard while singing in the studio, even though he had a sinus infection he wasn’t aware of at the time. He initially wanted to keep it private, but felt it was time to share what was going on.
The 29-year-old singer initially believed his voice problems were just tiredness. He continued recording until he completely lost his ability to sing.
Cody shared that they’ve been struggling with vocal issues for weeks, forcing them to cancel appearances promoting their song ‘Baby Blue’. This has also slowed down progress on finishing the album and preparing new music. They’ve been put on another two weeks of complete silence to try and avoid needing surgery, which would require a much longer recovery.
Despite struggling to finish his new music, the singer of “Pretty Brown Eyes” assured fans he’s working hard to release it as soon as possible.
I’m back in the studio, focusing solely on writing lyrics while working silently with my team. I’m developing vocal melodies on my guitar, which I’ll later sing myself when I’m able. I’m determined to find a way to make it work, no matter what.
And he assured his fans that they’ll hear new music soon.

I’ve had a lot of highs and lows recently, but I’m now seeing it as a positive change for the future,” he said. “While I figure things out, do you want me to start sharing some of the work I’ve already completed?
Cody is back to making music after taking a break to compete as a swimmer for Australia’s national team, as he announced on social media in 2025.
In a July TikTok, Cody shared a response to someone saying they looked happier. Cody explained that their happiness came after years of hard work and finally achieving a lifelong goal: making the Australian swim team.
The brief hiatus was just what the “La Da Dee” singer needed to tap into new inspiration.
He described his time away from swimming as building up intense anticipation, like stretching a bowstring. When he could finally return to his creative work, ideas flowed easily, as if released from that tension, he told People magazine in March.
Okay, so Cody being so open about everything? It’s amazing, honestly. It makes me feel so much closer to him, knowing he’s real. And it got me thinking… he’s not alone in sharing this stuff. I need to know who else is being this brave and honest about their health. Seriously, tell me everything – I want to know about all the stars who are opening up!

In May 2026, the host of the BFFs podcast had emergency surgery when doctors found a large cyst on her ovary. The cyst was twisting her internal organs and causing her to bleed internally.
I was absolutely shocked to learn just how much blood had accumulated after my surgery. Brianna, who shared her experience on TikTok, said they found half a liter of blood in her pelvic area! She also had five incisions on her stomach – they even used a camera through her belly button to locate everything. It’s a lot to go through, and I’m sending her all my support.

She explained that many girls are taught to expect period pain as a normal part of growing up and being female. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

Oh my gosh, it was awful! I was watching the Louisville match on September 14th, and our midfielder just…went down. It happened so quickly, right at the start of the game against Seattle Reign at Lumen Field. I was so worried! It was terrifying to see.

He compared the feeling to having had a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, even though it can be harsh, because it helped her figure out what was wrong with her health. After noticing she looked “puffier,” she was surprised when doctors started commenting on her interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome – a condition often caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted her to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. Schumer explained she wouldn’t have discovered she had Cushing syndrome without the online feedback. She recently shared that learning her condition would resolve on its own and that she was healthy was wonderful news.

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to respond when Justin asked if she was alright. She then found she couldn’t speak and the right side of her face began to droop.
Although her speech and facial movement eventually returned, Hailey went to the hospital where scans revealed she’d had a small blood clot in her brain, diagnosed as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).
Further testing at UCLA discovered a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled to her brain through this hole, causing the TIA.
Hailey underwent a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, adding that while the situation was frightening and unexpected, he was going to be completely fine and she was grateful he was on the mend.

As many of you know, I’ve always believed in being open about life’s journey, and recently I’ve been sharing more about a really difficult time I went through. Back in April of 2023, I experienced a serious medical issue that I kept private at first. It started with a terrible headache while I was in Atlanta. I actually asked someone for an aspirin, but I ended up passing out before I could take it. I lost twenty days of my life, completely unaware of what was happening.
Initially, a doctor gave me a cortisone shot and sent me home, but thankfully my sister, Deidra, knew something wasn’t right and insisted we go to the hospital. That’s where we discovered I’d had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
Twenty days later, on May 4th, I woke up in a wheelchair, unable to walk. It was a huge wake-up call. I immediately started intense rehabilitation and therapy in Chicago, and it was a long road to recovery.
Looking back, I’m just incredibly grateful for all the prayers and support I received. Honestly, I needed every single one of them to get through it.

After that, she saw light, which led her to realize she had died that day.

While filming the series, she experienced a severe headache while at the gym, followed by intense pain and vomiting. She quickly realized something was seriously wrong with her brain.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, describing the pain as unbearable. During her recovery, she temporarily lost her ability to speak, often muttering nonsensical phrases.
Though she recovered and was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed and a critical risk to her life. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia Clarke is now fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”

Fortunately, Cori is now recovering well. She says she’s doing great and has been working to regain some motor skills, but is otherwise feeling fine.

Shailene Woodley struggled with health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she described a time when she was losing her hearing, couldn’t walk for more than a few minutes without needing to rest for hours, and experienced stomach pain after eating. She faced conflicting diagnoses from different doctors. Determined to find answers, Woodley, who prefers to keep her specific condition private, combined traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies. This search for well-being lasted for ten years. The physical discomfort led to anxieties about food and, eventually, to struggles with body image and a sense of self. Thankfully, after addressing both her physical and mental health, Woodley is now feeling much better and considers herself very healthy.
