In a report as thick as a dictionary, filed in a federal court in San Antonio, Judge Henry Bemporad opined that Plaintiff Paul has sufficiently alleged that Coffeezilla’s statements are capable of defamatory meaning and not just mere opinion. CryptoZoo, for the uninitiated, was supposed to be a blockchain game where players could buy NFT “eggs” that would hatch into animals. These critters could then be bred to create unique animals, earning tokens based on their rarity. But alas, the game never saw the light of day. Paul alleged that Coffeezilla called him “a serial scammer” and labeled CryptoZoo a “scam” and a “massive con.” Now, how one man can be accused of such things and still have the nerve to file a lawsuit is a mystery for the ages. 🤔][]][]][]][]]

Coffeezilla, not to be outdone, asked the court for an early judgment, claiming his statements were opinions and his videos had disclaimers. But Bemporad, with the sharpness of a razor, found that “Coffeezilla’s three statements meet the legal definition of defamatory” and that the disclaimers were as visible as a needle in a haystack. 🧭🗺️
